have the starters not even really been a choice since gen 5? It seems ever since gen 5, there has been one glaringly obvious pick next to two horrendous pieces of shit. From gens 1-4, I have my preferences, but any of the first 12 are solid choices both in terms of aesthetics and gameplay. Once gen 5 rolled around though, you had based nigga snivy sitting next to two outright abominations. There isn't even a decision to be made, if you don't pick the snake, what is wrong with you? Then gen 6 came and it was even worse. It was froakie and then a furry bait cat whos head was 9 times the size of its body and the ugliest worst designed piece of shit rattata-tier "starter" ever. Literally not even a choice, you have to pick froakie or you have a mental problem. Gen 7 eased up on this a little bit, with rowlet being the obvious choice but incineroar being the best final evo, but still, who the fuck is picking the seal? And furthermore, without knowlege of inceroar, who the fuck would pick the cat over the owl? Insane people with no taste. Gen 8 was maybe the worst trio to this date and it still somehow had the same problem. Grookey was shit but significantly less shit than the furry bait and the horrid, offensively designed Sobble. Gen 9? Same story. You have Fuecoco, who is basically fire totodile, and then a faggot duck, and more furry pornbait with a cat with a massive head. If you pick anything but fuecoco, you have a legitimate mental issue. I hope in gen 10 they at least make me ponder my fucking choice a little bit. I doubt they will. Surely I am not the only one to have noticed this.
