do you guys think the flying type fits Scyther thematically?
if flying type was a "wind type" then it sure would've but I think Scyther would be cooler as a mono bug

even competitively speaking, if you were to buff X-Scissor to be a bug type Leaf Blade and give Scyther Sharpness I think the new mono-bug Scyther might have some edge over the current version

Flying type doesn't even fit it. Even as early as Stadium points out it isn't much of a flier. Scyther matches mono Bug or Bug/Normal more appropriately

Scyther has bigger wings than most bird Pokemon. Galarian Zapdos aka a roadrunner (depicted running everywhere) can learn Fly despite gimpy wings. Doduo/Dodrio DOESN'T EVEN HAVE WINGS and can learn Fly.
