Do you play "Red" or "Blue" games, or do you play "1st" or "2nd" games? For example, with the original Red and Blue as a control, Ruby and Sapphire are both Red/"1st" and Blue/"2nd" games, while Diamond/Pearl and X/Y are "1st"/Blue, "2nd"/Red games.

With that said, which versions do you tend to lean towards?

If that was confusing I think this anon is trying to say do you play a game for the color of the game or because the name is the 1st or 2nd of the two.
>>
>zekrom in red
>reshiram in blue
what
>>
>>58873564
Based explainer anon

And I always choose the lighter version bc of autism, and 9/10 blue versions have better exclusives
>>
>>58873546
>Blastoise
>Ho-Oh
>Kyogre
>Dialga
>Reshiram (which is in the red category btw, this image is retarded)
>Xerneas
>Lunala
>Zamazenta
>Koraidon probably idk they're both shit
pretty even split, but blue takes it
>>
>>58873546
I just play whatever box I like better. Which was largely the blue side besides palkia. I also don't remember if I played sword or shield because I never finished it
>>
>>58873546
I go for second games i.e. leaf green/ ultra moon/ shield
Whatever isnt obviously the 'main' game
>>
>Red
Ruby
>Red
Everything else

>1st
Ruby, Diamond, Black, Black2, X, Sword
>2nd
Blue, Silver, Moon, UltraMoon, Violet
>>
I’m team B Everytime except for pearl because Palkia is ass
>>
>>58873546
For me it was
>gen 1
Red
>gen 2
Silver
>gen 3
Ruby
>gen 4
Diamond
>gen 5
White
>gen 6
Y

Haven't played gens 7-9 but if I did I'd have chosen Sun, Shield, and Violet
>>
>>58873546
i usually prefer the exclusive pokemon in blue/2nd versions
i noticed there's some kind of pattern with the exclusive pokemon, you can tell which is the red version and which is the blue version by looking at the exclusives
>>
>Blastoise
>Lugia
>Kyogre
>Palkia
>Zekrom
>Xerneas
>Solgaleo
>Zacian
>Miraidon

While dialga is actually blue, I feel Palkia fits the "feel" of Blue more since it's a water type and the version exclusives feel more Blue.
Also Reshiram is definitely Red because Fire type and Black is a colder color meaning more related to Blue
>>
>>58873546
This is kinda strange but I always went with the second version 5 times in a row by pure coincidence, but then I got Omega Ruby and realized I fucked up my pattern, so I returned it and got Alpha Sapphire, and have been second version ever since
>>
>>58873546
I played every third version up until Platinum.
>Blue, then Red after my Blue Version got stolen, then yellow
>Gold then Crystal
>Ruby then Emerald
>Fire Red
>Pearl then Platinum
>Heartgold

Didn't bother buying the games after that. Gen 5 killed any interest I had in the franchise with how awful it was.
>>
>>58873546
Generally I'd say I like the type 2/blue versions more, but in truth its been mixed
>Never owned original gen 1/2, only played friends/cousins and whatever rom I got from someone else
>Ruby, but only because the game store my dad brought me to as a kid didn't have Sapphire, and I didn't wanna be picky in case he changed his mind about buying a game for me
>Diamond, dialga looked cooler
>Heart Gold, dont remember why, maybe I played a lot of Silver on emu
>White, cos Zekrom looked cooler
>White 2, because I wanted the forest
>X because Xerneas looked cooler
>Alpha Sapphire so I can finally correct my gen 3 choice
>Moon because Lunala looks cooler
>Sword because for some reason the blue legend is the type 1 this time
>Scarlet because I liked past paradox mons more
>>
I pick my main game by the box legend. So I've played Red games, Blue games, First games and Second games because the order or colours they're marketed with are irrelevant compared to the pokémon featured on it.
>>
mostly "first", with the exception of playing blue, white, and shield. i had a sibling who would usually take the other so we were set
>>
>>58873546
Red or Blue
>RBY
>GSC
>RSE
>DPPt
>BW
>XY
>SM
>SwSh
>SV
If Diamond is the Blue game and Pearl the Red game, shouldn't Gen 4 be PDPt instead of DPPt?
>>
>>58873571
>>
>>58873546
Does it count as Red if I played Gen1 Red but picked Squirtle?

? Gen1
Blue: 2, 3, 7, 9
Red: 4, 5, 6, 8
>>
>>58874170
The blue version is always the one version thats mentioned last when both are mentioned together so pearl and white are the 'blue' versions of their respective gens y and shield are also the blue versions of their gens
>>
>>58873571
also their attacks are color inacurrate
would be blue fire and red thunder
>>
>>58873546
Holy fucking esl lmao
>>
>>58873546
This makes me wonder, do we have sales figures for the individual versions? there would be games more popular than the counterpart
