Why are the older games still loved despite being forced to use a HM slave?
>>58873821Because they're easy enough to solo with just your starter or a really good earlygame mon that has the legs to go all the way to the league, so no one actually cares about needing an HM slave or two.
>>58873821most people online are absolute dogshit at pokemon gamesbeing dogshit at the games = entertainment from badly designed games
>>58873821These games are clearable by literal 5 year olds.
>>58873821>played the older game >had a few HM’s moves multiple Pokémon instead of having a “slave” to bare them all >no one in game freak came into my room and raped me until I put all my HM’s on one Pokémon Anon, did you have a different experience worth game than I did?
>>58873821the new pokemon games are boring dogshit with 0 replay value. hm slaves >>> faggy rivals and 3 hours of dialogue and forced experience share
>>58873831Post ELO yawnie.
>>58873841>Anon, did you have a different experience worth game than I did?Apparently so...
>>58873821Because you could manage and still get by. It was never a make or break deal.
>>58873850240
>>58873848I prefer the story and exp share to HMs.
It really isn’t that annoying or that much of a pain in ass or anything
People love old zelda despite never playing them too deobitsonhoweveraleit
Just share HMs in the main party, and find the move deleter guy before the game ends.
>>58873821they're not really that bad, it's archaic game design but it's kind of exaggerated how bad it really is. for one, you don't need a dedicated hm slave, if you want to run a full party of 6 then you can just spread hm moves out amongst them. the games are easy enough that it's not like you need fully optimized movesets. there's only a couple instances throughout the games where it gets really annoying to juggle them all, like when you need multiple water hms. but usually those are brief sequences so you can just swap out a pokemon temporarily if you need to. if it's truly something you can't live with, most if not all the old games have qol hacks at this point that bypass hms in one way or another.
Show us on the Substitute Doll where Tropius touched you.
>>58873821as a kid I liked HMs, because my team building (need a flier, need a surfer, need a rock breaker, etc) made it feel like I was assembling a team to have an adventure and go exploring as well as battlingI get why they're gone but I'm never bothered by the games that have them
>>58873890It was on the nose
Children nowadays will never know the joy of fishing a level 5 Magikarp only to have it evolve into the strongest combat HM slave.
>>58873821I really don't like HMs, but they aren't that big of an issue. The games are still fun, and my HM slave in only temporary until I get a full team and I try to give them all the HM moves. However it kinda stinks because a lot of HM moves are shit (like Cut, Whirlpool in Gen 2 games, or Defog in DPPt), sometimes doesn't fit the stats (I had to use Fly on my Togekiss in Platinum) and sometimes some Pokémon can't learn any (like Magnezone in Pt). And finally it kinda restricts me on the types I use. Because of HMs, I always have both a Water and Flying type, but I very rarely use Grass and Psychic because they are redundant with other types that I use like Electric or Ground.
>HM thread>full of lies about how people "had" to use completely optional HMs like fly and defogEvery time.
>58874429>tardbaiter in an HM thread who pretends that some HMs being "optional" like Defog suddenly doesn't make them shitEvery time.
>>58874440>bitch replying>no uYou're brown lol
>>58873821HMs are good. They forced you to adjust your team to clear obstacles in the overworld. It uses the Pokemon for more than just battling and provides an extra layer to teambuilding. They were annoying but that wasn't the point. 5 year old me got endorphins from distributing the HMs effectively in my team and using them to clear through the various dungeons in gen 4 for example. Not needing them to overcome obstacles and instead just pressing A to summon a rider is boring and lazy. You may as well just have a roadblock that clears when you beat the gym or whatever. Also some were optional but made the game easier if you used them, like flash and defog. Good design.
>>58873821i think the worst was defogyou don't have to use it but simply because this tm exists, fog exists and this probably the most dogshit weather condition ever, fog and defog are tied for being such awful pieces of shit2nd place is definitely whirlpool, why would they make it such an awful move
>>58873831case in point>>58874450
>>58874450>Good designThe very existence of HM slaves proves that this is a terrible design choice.
>>58873859I played Oot recently on Nintendo online and it was great T. 26 year old zoomer
>>58873855loser lmao
>>58873821>Student 1>Math: A>Science: A->English: A>History: B>Spanish: C+>Student 2>Math: D>Science: D>English: D>History: C>Spanish: B-Can someone explain why Student 1 is considered the better student, even though Student 2 did better in Spanish?
>>58874648Student 2 is the game with HMs in this analogy btw
>>58874429>not using flyLmao get real
>>58874456Where do you get shock wave in gen 4?
>>58874648>Food Analogy
>>58874702in dppt, you get it in route 215 just before veilstone city, there is a little spot blocked by trees that you can cutin hgss you have to defeat lt surge in kantosince there seems to be only one tm in each game, if you want more mons with shock wave, make sure that the mon you use it on is MALE, so it can give tm moves to eggs
>>58874719Now use your brain to solve the puzzle.
>>58874725
>>58873831hi yawnfag
anon this may come as a surprise but people can enjoy things and find flaws in them at the same time
