Modern Pokemon games literally have more content than ever, yet you all still complain. Gen 9 is good and fun, you can't convince me otherwise.

They're easily the best games since Gen 5 and they actually take the mainline games in a forward direction. Obviously, they aren't perfect (I wish Overwold catching would be implemented already) but they're fun and definitely not catastrophically dogshit like so many people make them out to be.

I have seen many people actually liking PLA. ZA was just "correct" but I have seen that the DLC is just awful.

Offhand I know most main games are missing but unofficial games have>options for actually speeding up / skipping plot, not just ~4 short cutscenes>option to attempt gyms in any order with appropriate level scaling>multiregion (forgivable if missing, depending on the amount that IS in a game)>battle facilities, not just a tower grind>megas / z-moves / etc all available>all pokemon, no dexcut

Someone's take on Scarlet and Violet is a decent barometer of their taste. SV is messy but more ambitious, has a lot of content, and is structurally different from what Pokémon has been doing forever. The technical issues are real and inexcusable, but if someone just reflexively screams “LE SCAT AND VOMIT” then they've unfortunately fallen victim to the hivemind.

SV will always be haunted by its release window, ugly graphics and slow battle system. DLC Maps are a nice idea, though it may never come back if budget cuts are real!
