Meditite in Gen 4 for instance
Hard mode: No Gen 2 mons

Lucario

Rotom. It went from a cool pseudo legendary (not in that way) Pokemon to being a main part of every game from Gen VII onwards.
>>
>>58884730
Clefairy?
>>
>>58884730
Skarmory. It feels more like a Gen 3 mon desu.
>>
>>58884827
never got this meme
slugma i get, but skarmory is one of the original steel types AND available in the main story (assuming you're playing silver)
its counterpart mantine is always recognized as a gen 2 mon, despite being just as uncommon
>>
>>58884839
I played silver 2 times before sapphire came out without ever seeing a skarmory
I only found out it was gen 2 here
>>
>>58884839
Probably because Mantine doesn’t show up in gen 3. Skarmory also annoying to find in gen 2 and lacks trainers using it compared to gen 3 which has Winona and Steven
>>
>>58884839
skarmory is a version exclusive and a rare encounter in an optional lategame route. in gen 3 it's in a mandatory early route that makes you go through much more grass.
>>
>>58884877
Its also a big part of gen 3's metagame

more kids were first exposed to skarmory in pmd than in gen 2
>>
>>58884839
In the US I don't remember seeing Skarmory being promoted so you had to play the games and encounter it.
>>
>>58884730
AZ's Floette :3
>>

...and gen 2's.
>>

Farfetch'd in Gen 2.

>Mantine doesn’t show up in gen 3
You didn't play the postgame in LeafGreen?
>>
>>58887351
>version exclusive 5% encounter rate in a postgame battle facility area
lol really not helping mantine's case
>>
>>58887371
It's not like the 10% it had in Gen II in Gold and Crystal was much better.
>>
>>58884730
You should probably also add "no mons that were more relevant in gen 6 than their debut gen". Lots of megas and fairy types there.
>>
Serperior may be an unova starter, but it feels like it only became good in gen 6 onwards thanks to finally getting Contrary.
I wonder what the fuck happened behind the scenes at GF to make most dream world mons to not get released, like Shadow Tag Chandelure i can see why that didn't get released, that shit sounds like the most broken shit ever, but Contrary Serperior?
That feels like robbery, dude's a starter, those are shillmons by default.

How is Meditite more relevant in gen 4 than 3? It pops up everywhere in gen 3
>>
>>58887351
I barely remember it. Last time I played those games was nearly 20 years ago.
>>
>>58884839
Mantine was in the Entei movie and compared to Skarm appears almost nowhere in gen 3. It's at least in Colosseum as well.

>>58885655
I never even thought about that. The first game's tie-in anime even adapted that mission.
>>
>>58884730
Meditite is more relevant in Gen 3 though. They spam that retard in literally half of the gyms, and every other trainer in the game uses it.
>>
>>58888073
It’s also used by Brawly in Emerald, so it’s not like it wasn’t used by prominent trainers either.
>>
>>58884827
Skarmory, Marill, Slugma, Xatu, Wobbuffet, all get more play in Hoenn than they do Johto.

Misdreavus would have, too, had they not decided to re-program Chimecho into the game at the last minute and overwrite its encounter slot at Mt. Pyre.
>>
>>58888083
Xatu’s used by Will, you’re not going to miss that thing.
>>
>>58887384
difference is that it's not post-game exclusive there
>>
>>58888073
Meditite is as common among trainers in Gen 4 as it was 3, but where it's more prevalent is wild locations. Gen 3, it's Victory Road exclusive and not even found in Emerald. Meanwhile Sinnoh features it in multiple routes
>>
>>58884730
Zeraora
>>
>>58888200
It’s in Pyre as well, buddy. And it’s definitely not used as often in DPPt as it is in RSE.
