Had an idea for a Unova rock specialist character since there isn’t really one. The character would be named Pietro Palazzo and would be Castelia City’s resident kingpin. Basically, think the Italian mafia in Pokemon (no, team rocket and the rust syndicate don’t really count since they’re clearly based on the Yakuza). The Palazzo Crime Family would have a legitimate, front facing side as Palazzo Construction Inc, a construction firm that has helped build Castelia (in the most literal way possible) for decades. Its most recent venture, the construction of the neighborhood on route 4 has been stalled indefinitely after ruins were found on the site. Personality wise, Pietro would be unflappably calm and methodical, constantly working to be three steps ahead of the powers that be in Unova and making sure his syndicate stays powerful and relevant. Even when angry, he remains eerily tranquil, never losing his serene smile. He is also prone to dry snark and sees almost every conversation as an opportunity to either manipulate, obtain information, or get a read on someone. He would also be something of a history buff, having stopped the construction project on route 4 out of sheer interest and sponsoring various museums in Castelia. His team would consist of a Carracosta, Archeops, Gigalith, Crustle, and Tyranitar. Do you guys think he’s too similar to Giovanni or Corbeau?

I feel like given Pietro’s construction business, he would be more prone to cement shoes or just burying people up to their heads in sand in the desert resort and leaving them to the Krokoroks. He’d call it a new and innovative sand bath treatment at the don’s favorite resort. Oh yeah, I also forgot to talk about his appearance. Actually, I have another idea for a Unova oc who combines an unused type specialty with an untapped American stereotype, the military. I mean, there’s lieutenant surge, but him being a lieutenant indicates a chain of command in the unovan military, hence my oc General Ferris Smith. He's considerably similar to both of those people but diverges from them due to his motivations. Giovanni's far more ambitious and Corbeau's far less entirely. There's two issues. The first one is obviously that there's no Poke-Italy yet, so you'd have to at least make up occasional references to the home country. The second thing is that Unova actually already has a mob boss, it's some old guy in a trench coat who calls openly calls himself The Boss of Black City, which suggests he is really fucking powerful if he can get away with that, and he would probably already have some connections in Castelia City to begin with. Also the fact that he uses Rock types makes him a bit similar to Giovanni who uses Ground types. Team Rocket is also the only team with a confirmed kill, and you mentioned that this syndicate occasionally kills people.

It's a bit rare for the heads of construction companies themselves to be proactive criminals, they're usually the ones being held under the thumb of mob bosses while being threatened against underbidding on contracts the mob wants to control or having their job sites and equipment squeezed for protection money. A delayed concrete delivery can stall a project to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars every day, a sudden labor dispute can be devastating, and when time is ticking, desperate construction managers will pay extortionate rates for the tools they need.
Typically, a head of a construction company cheated the system by actively colluding with the mob--look up the Concrete Club sometime. They would overbid on jobs and then split the proceeds with their good friends who made sure no one made the city a better offer. They would use mob-controlled labor unions to strangle their competitors, create fake invoices, set aside wages to employees that don't exist or mail bills for services that were never rendered. But almost all of that relies on being part of a larger operation. Individually, a construction company can bribe officials to ignore certain violations or make political contributions to prove their reliability before the city or state needs to decide who to trust with a big job.

Since he’s a Rock type trainer, maybe he could be part of the sand mafia and pillage that random ass desert conveniently located near Castelia City. Would you believe that sand is one of the biggest illicit trades worldwide, and that the reasoning for such is that the world is running out of sand? Depending on the mob’s power level it wouldn’t really be too unreasonable for them to pay off local authorities to have their sand trucks loaded with two to three times the legal limit. And the best part? This ties heavily into concrete production, which is essential for construction. It’s a fascinating rabbit hole.

A redraw of an older design I didn't really like too much. If Miko were to be a gym leader, he would specialize in electric types and his gym battle would take place in the arcade/casino he opens. His team would consist of multiple Voltorbs that love to self destruct on unsuspecting enemies, paving the way for his Pincurchin and ace Electrode.

I’ve had this idea in my head for four ocs who would essentially be Saturn’s admins/executives when he’s trying to turn team galactic into a legit energy company after the events of platinum. They would be Vesper, a charismatic bum who joined team galactic thinking it was one of those fun free-love & drugs cults, Ermis, a hacker and career criminal who joined team galactic to hide from law enforcement since they have to all have the same hair cut, Nereid, an aspiring Pokémon biologist who joined team galactic after she took a gap year from college and thought it was an actual energy company, and Umbriel, a former contest star who ran away from home to challenge the sinnoh gyms and joined team galactic after hitting a wall in her batting career. I’ll post specifics along with their respective teams later.

Well, now that you mention it, Umbriel did have a very rough childhood, though not for the reasons you might think. See, Umbriel was born the daughter of a contest star and was expected to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Unfortunately, Umbriel was a tomboy by nature and loved battling. Years and years go by and Umbriel hates pokemon contests and all of the frilly, pink pageantry that goes along with it. The day she turns 18, Umbriel runs away to complete the gym challenge and manages to make it to the fifth gym (Fantina) before she hits a wall and is unable to progress. She can’t beat Fantina no matter how much work her Luxray and Gliscor put in. So she falls into despair and joins team galactic in an attempt to find a place to belong, since she long since burned bridges with her family and doesn’t have any friends, and to feel strong by comparison, what with all the weak grunts around. Her team initially consists of a haunter, Luxray, and her ace Gliscor. As a team galactic member, Umbriel was an enforcer who worked security and as added muscle for team galactic to intimidate people with. Umbriel was always on the cusp of becoming a commander, but never actually achieving the rank, which frustrated her to no end. Personality wise, she’s a brash tomboy who despises those she sees as weak. Despite her abhorrence of all things girly and feminine, she has a flair for the dramatic that she retains from her contest days, loving to look cool and spout off profound sounding quotes. She also is kind of oblivious to her surroundings and to the feelings of others, which causes her to step on other people’s toes and be oblivious to the obvious crush Nereid has on her (if you’re wondering, this is a sailor moon reference).

Okay, now for Nereid, full name Nereid Mangrove. Born and raised in Pastoria city to her father, an of the manager of the great marsh, and her mother, a botanist, Nereid wanted nothing more than to become a Pokémon professor. Unfortunately, the stressful workload and her lack of friends at the University of Sinnoh caused her to have a nervous breakdown and take a gap year after her first year, which proved to be a lot longer than expected, as she joined team galactic think they were the legitimate energy they claimed to be. Unfortunately, by time she realized what team galactic was, she was in too deep and felt like she needed to stay to help keep the Pokémon team galactic had safe, or at least relatively safe, so she didn’t call the police or whistleblow. Unfortunately, this lead to her being dragged into helping with more and more immoral research, with her being one of the researchers made to create the red chain. She was, naturally, horrified by both her contributions to team galactic’s apocalyptic ambitions, and her having a role in the bombing of the great marsh, as she feels responsible for not stopping the bombing from taking place. She’s decided to work for Saturn’s more legit team galactic because she’s terrified of confronting her family and hometown. Her team as a team galactic grunt/lieutenant (I figure there’s gotta be a rank or two between grunt and commander from an organizational standpoint) consists of a kirlia, Yanmega, and Gastrodon (East Sea). All Pokemon found in or around Pastoria. She catches a Skorupi in the great marsh once she finally visits Pastoria and reconciles with her family.

Personality-wise, she’s very dour and mousey, being riddled with guilt and anxiety over her actions or lack thereof in team galactic. The only two things that can get her to perk up are interests, especially Pokemon biology, and her crush, Umbriel. She’s also a massive nerd and fan of video games and anime. Finally, her hair color is naturally the same color as the standard team galactic grunt’s and got the grunt haircut instead of getting a wig, being unaware that was an option.

I was going for Pokémon from the platinum dex when building teams.

Also, here’s some more details on Vesper. He was originally an aimless bum who work odd jobs and was a charismatic and mildly hedonistic, hippy stoner type. He finished his Pokémon journey when he was younger and graduated high school but just sorta never got his shit together afterwards, assuming his natural charisma would see him through and things would just work themselves out. Given that Sinnoh is base on a region of Japan, this meant he was kind of on the fringes of society and, despite his charisma and amicable nature, he had few friends other than his Pokémon. Thus, he joined team galactic thinking he could find a place to belong and make some cash, and also assuming that team galactic was one of those fun, free-love and drugs cults. His team initially consisted of a Clefairy, Crobat, and Lopunny. He later adds an umbreon which he evolves from an eevee that he obtained as part of a pr scheme for the new galactic energy company. As for his personality, he’s gregarious and friendly, if a bit of a bum and slacker. He’s also a flirt and prone to being easily distracted by a pretty face.

Long ago, after a great and terrible war, the mountains were left bare.
The soil was blackened, the rivers ran thin, and the people who had once lived alongside the creatures of the land turned upon one another. Humans fought humans and Pokémon, Pokémon fought Pokémon and humans, for there was little left to share. Each believed that if they did not take what remained, another would.
And so the land suffered further, and the fighting did not end.
One day, a wandering king came into the mountains. He carried no banner and commanded no army, but his head was heavy with a pale blue crown. When he saw the ruin of the land and the bitterness of those who lived upon it, he was filled with sorrow.
The king walked among slopes that were old and worn smooth by time and weather. They were not sharp like the mountains far to the south, but patient, softened, and enduring.
He called together both people and Pokémon and said to them:
‘Where you stand, nothing more will grow. If you continue to fight over what little remains, soon there will be nothing left to fight for, and no one left to claim it.’
They answered him with anger and fear.
So the king led them into the mountains, across dry ground and broken stone, until they came to a barren peak where the morning sun reached first and the evening light lingered longest and nothing grew at all.
There, the king knelt and pressed a single seed into the soil.
‘This,’ the king said, ‘I give to you. If you nurture this seed together, if you share water and labor and patience, then your descendants will inherit a land that never withers. But if you abandon it, it will perish as all things do.’
With that, the king departed, and none saw where he went.

That abundance is born of cooperation. That gifts must be tended, not taken for granted. And that even the greatest bounties will wither if those who inherit it forget to tend to its roots.

Okay, now for the last of Saturn’s new subordinates, Ermis. Now, Ermis was originally a hacker, career criminal, and conman who went by the name Stilbon. He did stuff like creating online scams designed to get people’s credit card info, performing petty theft, and selling his hacking services to the highest bidder to make ends meet. Unfortunately, Stilbon had a bad habit of doing stuff just to see if he could, which would come to bite him in the ass after he hacked the Sinnoh pc system and was tracked down. Thus, he went on the run and eventually faked his death, changing his name to Ermis. But, the authorities weren’t wholly convinced. So, wanting to avoid law enforcement further and lay low until everything blew over, Ermis decided to join team galactic, dressing like a grunt to blend in and assuming it was one of those financial scam cults, like scientology. Ermis thought he could eventually work his way up and get in on the grift (and get out before everything inevitably collapsed). Unfortunately, the events of Pokémon platinum happen. Now Ermis is trying to go legit in the hopes of the Pokemon league not suspecting anything and having gone through something of an existential crisis after having been party to an attempted apocalypse. His development would be learning to be willing to help others and not be a self centered asshole. Think kind of like Pokémon moist Von lipwig. His team would consist initially of a bronzong, murkrow, and Porygon-z. He eventually adds a rotom. Also, given him being a reference to the planet mercury, he obviously has grey hair, despite being in his 20s (it’s a running joke that people get his age wrong). Personality-wise he’s the most self-centered of the group, being a greedy coward who is, by his own admission, not a battler in the slightest. Unfortunately for him, he and the rest of Galactic Energy Inc are up against the rogue splinter groups of team galactic and a corrupt international police investigator.

No, this was not a TTRPG group, just a text based roleplaying group that was active from 2020 to 2024 for a different franchise. It slowly decayed due to constant drama with people leaving, rejoining, and getting kicked out. Unsurprisingly, almost everyone who turned traitor was part of the alphabet soup. The friend group is actually still active, but we quit roleplaying a long time ago, and it is also far smaller than when it started out. The outfit you see here is actually Alex's original outfit from those days. I have a few drawings from that era but I don't post them here for security (paranoia) reasons, and also because his design changed a bit since then plus most of them were drawn by people who later turned on me. But if anyone here who has me added "offsite" would like to see them, you can request that from me in that other place.

I actually would NEVER use Alex when playing a TTRPG. I fear that I would get too attached and quit if he ever died, and beyond that, I would also be worried that people would get annoyed with us. I actually abstain from TTRPG completely because of that second thing, so I wouldn't play one even with a different character (and I have difficulty being satisfied with my other OCs regardless). Someone once told me to never play a tabletop with someone unless you'd share a room with them, and well, there is pretty much nobody in my life that I have ever wanted or will ever want to share a room yet. I have never played Zenless Zone Zero and honestly the character design is not really my thing except for maybe Asaba. I like the character designs of Honkai Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, and Arknights + Endfield, but I don't think I will continue those games. I don't really know how the cyberpunk one will go, part of me wants to make it a new setting and part of me wants to make it a non-canonical extension of the games timeline with a cyberpunk Neo Black City and Alex using either life extension technology or consciousness transplant into a clone to have kept his body. I probably won't do it though.

In that continuity Alex's outfit is based off of Ayerscarpe's Elite 2 outfit from Arknights and Xander from Aotu World. Alex's fantasy series is going to be an original setting, and his outfit in it is based off of Aether from Genshin Impact while the setting is more inspired by Dungeons and Dragons, even directly using the spells and mechanics from 2014 5E with some minor homebrewing added in (mostly firearms, certain spells and magical items, and jacking up Mage Hand to be able to do basically anything-which still probably won't even make Arcane Trickster a "meta" class)

Hey guys, mikoanon here with another update on Tiffany's adventure (who is cool-ly featured in this even cooler anon's writing B) >>58912986). We finally beat the second gym and Tiffany's team has underwent a few upgrades. I'm so excited and glad to have her partner and ace fully evolved, as well as some of her other lovely mons. Not pictured on her roster right now are a 'T' Unown she caught at the Ruins of Alph who she named Tcharmy and a cute little Corsola caught while having a beach day in Cherrygrove that she named Sola.
It's been a while since we've played PTU last, but it's always such a treat when we do- our DM is super accommodating and really is the best. I'll keep posting these trainer cards with every new badge we get, but it might be a while until we get to the next gym, let alone beat it. Something else to mention since Tiffany's last update is that she won her very first contest! It was a normal rank Smart contest in which she entered with her Weepinbel (who was dressed up as a Sunflora. It was technically a Sunflora only contest, but whatever, we still won :P). Not sure if I'll keep track of those contest wins on her trainer card though, maybe I'll make a contest ribbon case or something like that. We'll see :P

I think the notion of obsessing over “credit” is a bit weird given the fact that there’s a tacit understanding among the regulars that those characters don’t belong to him. It’s the same reason that nobody puts “X character by Y” in cameos of crossovers, people already know that those characters don’t belong to the writer. Whenever the uninformed have asked if they’re his, he’s always told them that they were made by someone else. I asked for clarification because I wanted to see if there was a way to get a compromise, I don't know if he just forgot about the reply, or he decided to ghost me, the point is that I wanted to be sure if that was his stance, I was unsure about sharing the image, I made the screenshot to ask some friends for their opinion about how I should handle the situation, I decided to keep this conversation for myself until now.

The only reason I didn't started doing this, was because I didn't get a response(and he gave me the option to credit him in the reply, mind you. The "narcissistic behavior" Gene is referring to is the kind of behavior that Emily was exhibiting before he was removed by Archivist (and again, even if nobody really wanted Emily around it still set a precedent that Archivist could expunge people's works at will that scared some people) where he never engaged with other people's work and only ever talked about his own. Also, I've been playing PUBG Mobile in Unranked. I obtained all the Ranked rewards I wanted (fuck the new "Promotion Matches"), and now I can play it for fun, rather than sweat.

I'm weird, I think I watched a ton of the anime but game wise I think I was more of a fan of the Mystery dungeon games + played only gen 1, 3 and 4, and I don't remember finishing any of them. I guess I saw enough of the formula to not bother playing the older ones, so I considered playing the fangames or the spin-offs, seriously its saddening that they stopped making the spin-off games for pokemon, Mystery dungeon died because it was too good.

Heya! Posted here once before but I’m back to post my Trainer OC! Made a little progress on my skills since I last posted here.

This is Adelheid, a young woman from 100 years ago who lived among a small civilization of zealots from what is now the Sinjoh Ruins. At the time, she was the 33rd Stagekeeper of the Mystri Stage, those chosen by the Divine Sinnoh (Arceus) to preserve its secrets and stories on their backs, literally.

After years of mistreatment and an accident that caused the death of a close friend, Adelheid snapped and began fall
into deep despair, cursing the Divine Sinnoh and its legendary creations with every fiber of her being. After the intervention of dark forces, Adelheid was sent forward in time to present day, determined seek knowledge and to right all wrongs!

We had some new stuff this thread, but the momentum was killed by an argument immediately afterwards. David getting nuked is a pretty bad omen for this place, without him we regularly reach Page 9 and 10 which just goes to show how much this place is hanging on by a thread. We had things that we were anticipating, namely the second TCG and Merry’s second chapter, but Grym thought it would be funny to quit for the third time and based on what I know about Merry he’s probably a lot like me when it comes to writing. I think all of us are just waiting to hibernate again because of Pokemon Day, hopefully we will come back refreshed from that, hopefully we also finally get the 2025 omnibus out and maybe that inspires people to write more. If not, then at the very least after the next thread we will at least be able to say that we survived for an entire year after April 1st before shutting down.

Tbf most of the content here is made by hand by really talented people who also have work or irl stuff to deal with it being slow and a bit repetitive isn’t special or unique. Unlike other threads like the anime or masterSex we don’t get updated with new content because we don’t rely big companies to make new stuff for us. Pretty solid team. I think the Bridge and Arcanine are pretty good in the modern vgc meta…well they were before the restricted came in. Can’t speak for the other ones but Togekiss is good in singles back in gen 8 unfortunately he didn’t get the passport for poke spain

An idea that just came to me is that for the cyberpunk and fantasy AUs, Alex starts off wearing normal clothes (either in flashbacks or at the actual starts of the storylines), but at some point he gets his shirt ripped by an enemy Pokemon, like Padme during that coliseum scene in Star Wars, and then he just keeps it like that afterwards because he likes the exposure (though he gets a cleaner cut/sew after the incident). I thought it would be a nice way to add lore to the outfit as opposed to just "haha funny gacha twink reference".

Well as I said in that previous post >>58912349 the primary reasoning behind it is mostly just adjusted social norms, though in the fantasy AU it's also a taunt, it's a cultural thing among Rogues, they're basically daring you to touch them since Rogue builds in DND are based on evasion and not armor/HP. I guess "stealth" builds in the cyberpunk version would be the same way. Likewise in either case, if they start lightly armoring themselves it's either a signal that you're weak/not confident in your skills or that shit has really gone south and you need every bit of protection that you can get (I never really liked the way 5E does "studded leather armor").

On one side, I feel I should get one or two DnD books to see what's up. But I also heard the lore was gutted a lot ever since 3E, and the main problem is the old fantasy lore becoming mouth pieces of modern politics and cultures, so that takes you out a lot of the fantasy.
I don't know if I should read those books.
As for armor, I remember an old furry flash game where the model had cool Skyrim armor, as long as you remembered the right combination. I wish I could play it again.
It was one of the Flash Fall incident, so now is a broken flash that plays and replays itself by the second. I hope Ruffle can get up to the point is playable again, but I doubt it.

Real talk guys, actual moment of truth here, do we still want to continue? I think we all know how slow things have gotten. Regardless, if we choose to continue, then we must decide what to do about Pokemon Day. We have these options:
>Go on break now
>Make a new thread and try to ride out Pokemon Day
>Make a new thread just for next week and go on break once Pokemon Day hits
If we are continuing, then I would prefer the first option because it will give us time to refresh ourselves and hopefully come back with something new, but the third option is an okay compromise. I highly doubt that we will be able to ride out Pokemon Day unless it is a total nothingburger that only shows stuff for Champions and mobile slop, and I personally don't see a point in having the thread up for only a single week if it is only going to get a double digit number of replies. I am actually not sure when the return date will be if we choose to hibernate though, maybe one or two weeks after the announcement depending on how much we get. But I will go with whatever the thread wants to do.
