It's something made for older fans (not only in anagraphic sense, but mostly in the sense of people who love and appreciate older pokemon games more) through and through.

It's okay because it's like the one field in the game that's actually meant to be a field. They use space really well in PLA and their aren't many dead areas where there isn't something going on. Same thing can't be said for SV and ZA. SV has way too much dead space and ZA being locked to one city is boring as all hell. Everywhere you look it's just samey looking buildings and parks. I got tired of exploring very quickly in ZA.
