Shame his artwork is so garbage. He was a shit impersonator of the Sugimori style - his official art looks flat and awkward. Bruxish and Bewear aren't great designs, but the models do them far more justice than their official artwork does.

We've got fucking bizarre Pokemon like Sigilyph, Woboffet, Unown, Exeggutor, etc.. already, and yet "buff mosquito" is supposed to be so alien as to be un-Pokemon-like? Why is "Pokemon based on a Japanese myth" supposed to feel alien?As far as I can tell, it just seems like the UBs were lame designs and got rejected for it, then repurposed as "rejects recontextualized" as a meta observation.
UBs were some of the best designs in decades and i demand more of them.

Pheromosa is fucking tall, and therefore not “cute” like the others listed. Even among humanoids, it’s strangely humanoid and not as blobby as they tend to be, giving it a more eerie feeling in Pokemon’s art style.

Pheramosa is surprisingly normal compared to the rest though maybe it was too womanly but compared to Lopunny or even tsareena shes not that risky.
