Just beat this. Is the dlc worth it? It seems kind of expensive.
>>
i found the base game to be maybe a 6.5 or 7/10 if im feeling generous. the dlc is a 2 at best

I have over 500 hours in this game and enjoyed my time but wouldn’t recommend it to a new player. If you want more of the game it may be but if you don’t like repetitive grinding you can spend that money on much better things.

If you want the easiest shiny hunting simulator ever in a main series game, this is the DLC for you. If you're not interested in that, it's a piece of shit in every other aspect.

FUCK NO

What's wrong with it?

Only if you really like Chesnaught

Basically, if you don't enjoy playing through the hyperspace portals you'll hate the DLC as that's the bulk of the new content.

streamers said it was shit before it released so they stuck with it.

Incredibly tedious and grindy, the novelty wore off very quickly and then it just became a chore.

Discussing any video game, especially Nintendo games, is a huge exercise in tedium now. I don't buy many Pokemon games but liked PLA so I'll try to be impartial.

Positives:
>The Base game is a bit too easy and this ups the difficulty a little.
>Expanded dex and move list was sorely needed.
>20 new megas, just slightly below the base game in number.
>Extremely easy shiny hunting once you get far enough.

Negatives:
>Still too many silent, overly verbose dialogue scenes.
>Very little actual new mechanics. Really just donut farming.
>Just as low budget as the base game. Asking price is a bit high.

If you liked the base game's combat mechanics and systems you'll certainly enjoy it, because that's 90% of it. In terms of narrative and content it's not amazing. The dialogue is less snappy and was clearly written in a hurry. Watch some gameplay if you're really uncertain.

DLC is peak trash, avoid at all cost
>>

if you like trash liked ZA you'll love the DLC, it's the same shit but even worse

I liked the combat in ZA it feels like the right way to take pokemon to make it feel more dynamic and it helped balance things out by making speed just reduce cooldowns and no longer the be all end all stat. That being said ithe combat does still feel underdeveloped and every other aspect of the game is an objective downgrade from PLA. The game is the epitome of one step forward two steps back. It does inspire hope in me that they will make a great pokemon game at some point though they had the frame work for a good open world pokemon game now they have the frame work for a good combat system aswell if they can just polish and complete those things and combine them I'll be happy but I wont get my hopes up because we've essentially gotten 3 beta tests in a row and I dont expect that to stop.

Looking into the DLC the only reason I can think to get it would be if you like the pvp and dont want to be left at a disadvantage. If gen 10 comes out and it has the same combat system but more refined with abilities and no megas(which would be a good thing) there wouldnt have been much point in getting it at all. Though it does also give you a ton of mythicals so if you are working on your living dex and dont have those particular mons it helps with that.
