SM is the overall better Alola game imo but for repeated playthroughs and challenge runs, USUM is more fun.

Playing Pokémon for the plot is an indicator of low intelligence.

USUM kind of fucks with the story if you care about that, but adds in extra content like the ultra wormholes, Rainbow Rocket postgame story, everything with Necrozma, a new battle facility for the festival plaza that's probably just broken without wifi now, and a pretty expanded pokedex.
