>>58920088i was messing around and found out some romhacks that kept the link cable area untouched are actually compatible with retail games or compatible* as in they'll work but you can expect hiccups for example Kanto Expansion Pack can work with GSC but if a mon fails the in game check it won't go through, the scrapped/fanfic kanto mons are actually johto mons once traded over successfully. I think that Liquid Crystal GBA hack also works with RSE or FRLG to trade mons back and forth with. You can also try this yourself with PKHex and move a mon form a hack to another. Usually there won't be an issue some might fail the legal check but usually its because they put a fanfic move/ability on it that would translate to something impossible on a legitimate mon
