Shiny hunters is what ruined shinies, instead of being a cool random thing you get people optimised the fun out of it and GF saw that and catered to these idiots with all the side stuff you do in game being justified for a “shiny charm” at the end of it.Good that your post game activity of choice is ruined because you fags and your ugly colored pokemon deserve it.
I like shinies being a reasonable thing to get that you can go hey neat or maybe hunt 1 or 2 mons you likethere is no "value" in forcing one through RNG or getting a random shiny for a mon i don't care about

I don't think they necessarily meant for people to spend countless hours grinding them out, but they were meant to be quite a rare thing that not everybody would have. and if anything, GF has catered towards the latter person you're describing. they've leaned into it being something you grind for and exploit mechanics to get.
