Wasn't expecting it to be so anime-oriented. The narrator, Giovanni, Meowth, and the Pokemon Stadium announcer talk to you the entire time and an LCD screen plays clips from the anime constantly. Looks really well-made, too.

Yeah. I was expecting something more based on the GB Pinball game.
>>
>>58923477
>based on KANTO anime
>random shit like Furfrou, Piplup. Bidoof and Incineroar
Why?
>>
KANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Piplup makes sense, it was a main mascot of its era of the anime. But really I think what it is that TPC forces you to use as many different random Pokemon as possible for the sake of reminding people the more than the standard mascots exist. You'll never get an all killer, no filler representation there's always going to be random forced shitmons from later games

>no initial ball save window
Brutal for a game aimed at a wider audience, I didnt even know they still made games like this anymore. I bet they will change it later to have it.
>no jessie and james to the point the anime scene showing is edited to only have meowth being blasted away
Terrible, I wonder if its because they dont want to show any human characters at all, then again Giovanny is there but no one else, weird.

I hope the arcade in my area gets one so I can play it

Maybe they would need to get the rights to use the anime-created characters? Giovanni and Meowth are obviously their anime versions but were technically created by GameFreak. It's really weird to include Giovanni and Meowth but not Jessie and James considering Giovanni didn't do much in the anime.
Also, didn't the VA for Meowth die last year? I wonder how long this was in development. They might be reused voice lines because Meowth's are definitely less context-specific than Giovanni and the narrator.

Pretty much everything video content related comes from the later anime episodes where there were flashbacks to the original series. It just so happens the guy who voices Giovanni and the guy who voices the announcer were kept on through the voice actor change so they were brought in for new lines.

Misty was the VA that died last year. Meowth's original VA has been dead since 2008

No I'm talking about the post-4kids actor.

Definitely sounds like his voice in the pinball game so I'm guessing it's reused clips.

I love how the pinball table colors primarily consist of Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow, as a reference to the the games that made up Gen 1.

pikachu shaking his head constantly knowing that this is just pachinko with extra steps

So after 30 year and 2 virtual pinballs this is the first actual pinball machine of pokémon?

Should I also dream of a new virtual pinball game for switch? DS and 3DS missed it

There was gonna be one but it was cancelled after Metroid Prime Pinball bombed.
>>
>>58926561
You have a point with Incineroar, but yes Bidoof is a random shitmon, memes or not. Has TPC ever actually used it for marketing like Slowpoke or Wobbuffet?
>>
>>58929850
If that's the reason they're completely dumb. Pokemon pinball is like a complete different genre. And Metroid pinball is really shitty and edgy, trying to emulate a real machine. The 2 pokepinaball are both awesome and colorful.

Were you not there for Bidoof Day?

There's a little more to the story, but I forget the details.

Mario Pinball Land and Metroid Prime Pinball were done by a "2nd party developer"
>>

Ash kinda stopped being plastered all over Pokemon marketing in the early 2000s, at least from what I remember seeing in the States. With the Ashime over, we may never see the character again.
Giovanni, on the other hand, is one of the most well-known characters from Gen 1 thanks to him being the TR Boss. Anytime GF wants to remake/re-release Gen 1 or feels like bringing him back, he'll be featured in marketing.
>>
>>58931837
When has Giovanni been used to market anything?

And deaf and blind. You've got to be to play a mean game of pin ball.

Bidoof is super popular in Japan actually. They even gave it its own area in Pokepark Kanto.
