I backed mine up but I doubt I will use them again. Maybe AS since I bred so many mons there for the battle maison. I also wanted to continue my PMD save from my childhood but Im not in the mood.
Now I want to replay platinum as its the next in the line, and its snowing outside, so it felt fitting. Going through all my mons in the box and team is really something.
Do you ever say goodbye to your old mons? or play with them again?

Rarely. Thats why I learned its better to take it slow and stretch a game out as long as possible. Once I beat it I lose all interest

I always make my final save at the characters house next to the mom. I like to think that way they are spending eternity together happy and watching TV and talking about all the adventures they had.

thats the sweetest thing Ive heard this year. Now I feel bad for having my last saves at the battle fronier and leaving my mom alone to worry.

i shiny hunt in gens 3 - 5 bc the new games took away the fun, then after I get one I EV train it, then I box it and do it again a few months later.
I have a GBxCart but I don't have a homebrewed 3DS to back up my DS cards just yet.

All the time. Doing a Ribbon Master challenge contributed a lot to that.

But when I worked for a used game store, I used to look at save files on incoming used Pokemon games or VC saves on 3DS's. If I found a nicknamed Pokemon, a beloved team member, shinies, legendaries, or in general a Pokemon that seemed significant, I would trade them over to one of my games. I've collected about 600+ Pokemon across all generations. Been training up some of them for fun, and a way to spend time with them. I would hate to be abandoned by my trainer. I even did a run of Yellow entirely with rescues.

Here's a Raichu rescue in USUM that I got as a Pichu. I've been doing Ultra Wormholes and using her as a lead when catching legendaries. Nuzzle + Volt Switch. She's one of the first group I ever retrieved.

I once tried releasing a Glaceon, idk which game, but it refused to be released and it made me feel awful when I still committed to the release.

If I like a mon enough I will keep the first iteration of it forever bad nature/IVs and all. Unfortunately, I could only do this from the 3DS onwards. I really, really wish I didn’t lose my platinum and could bring my shiny flower paradise Shaymin over.

Once I’ve done what I need to do in a game and transferred Mon to home for generally save in a nice location and… that’s it. I’m glad we have the virtual games on 3DS cause I got a shiny Celebi in Crystal which I consider the first iteration for myself in terms of catching.

If it's a file with access to frontier features, absolutely. Otherwise I'm just going to restart and play campaign over again.

All the time. I can never delete my savefiles of Platinum and BW2. Atleast the switch let's you start new ones if you choose to play as another profile
