Monster shows/games as a whole are much more interesting when monsters are the main focus. Honestly what would you rather hear about?>Mystery dungeon world as a whole>what mewtwo is up to >happenings of the royal knights>how a fallen templar regained his honor and became a true guardian>How some girl got kicked out of college and has to provide for her single other and siblings>some kid is sad because he is adopted>dumb bitch is pissed because her single mother is a glam whore.Idk man, there always seemed to be too much human character bloat. We honestly only needed one or two for supposed relatability;> X-Evolution was perfectly fine movie. >monster rancher's anime was on point>so was Yokai Watch's>the second mystery dungeon was much interesting than any main line pokemon game No one else has this sentiment? We came here for monsters not teen drama, otherwise we would be watching slice of life bullshit.Think about how much more interesting each series would have been with less humans?
>>58925467incel cope threadno one actually cares about the monsters, you retard
>>58925959>no one actually cares about the monsters, you retardI am not here for girls I wish I could fuck or dudes I wish I could be. >>incel cope?I propose you are the incel, so stop acting white.
>>58925467to be honest I agree with you.Otherwise the game will end up like Cyber Sleuth where the monster are just tools and can be replaced with a sword.Unfortunately, GF still use human to push the story. It is clear that human have the as much appeal as the monster in the games. They even remove monster in favor for some half assed human customization.
>>58925467>>58926251developers often use human drama because it's cheaper/easier to write "relatable" tropes than to build a complex, non-human society from scratch.
Remember to buy Pokopia.
>>58925959>>58926251I'm here for the monster girls I wish I could fuck
>>58926681Honestly Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky/time/darkness was much better than any mainline pokemon game sprite or story wise at the time. Majority of the human characters seem like cardboard cutouts and don't do much until recently.>>58926681
>>58926687we saw it in the monster rancher anime, as well as digimon world. It can be done.
>>58926837Things is they make pokemons incapable to be evil. While this can still work, it makes things harder to make more complex story.
>>58926860eh.....>Mewtwo killed a couple of folks>Black Fog in the manga >The hands of Arceus were doing some crazy shit in Manga>Eliete four and their mons wanted to create a new world be eliminating all pokemon>Rayquayza impaled that girl in the manga It can be done.
>>58925467Monster franchises are really about the relation of humans to the monsters. A big part of Pokémon is about the bond between humans and Pokémon. But I do think there should be more focus on the Pokémon.>>58926687>>58926837I would like to see more media with solely non-humans. But it really depends on how it's done. There's an inherit human bias, even when there is non-humans in some media they might still mostly look and act human anyway. But it's somewhat understandable. We've not really seen any species in real-life with our level of cognition and advancement, let alone higher, it's not fully clear to what extent and in what way such a species can be different or similar to humans.>>58926860>>58926881They're not against having evil Pokémon They're against evil species of Pokémon, they want every Pokémon species to have individuals with some redeeming qualities, that's why for Pokémon species who really are one-of-a-kind or a just a few individuals have any evil they do be carefully portrayed.
>>58926837yes the problem pokemon cant talk unlike those monters form those franchises
>>58926881>Rayquayza impaled that girl in the manga>she is fine in the next panellol
>>58925467Honestly i’d disagree. If anything, i’d say the opposite and that the humans should be the primary focusPokemon isn’t just about the creatures but the relationship between them and humans. Hell, pokemon battles, the entire crux of the series, is driven not by the pokemon themselves but the humans who train them to bring out their full potential. It’s why we say how strong a trainer is, not how strong their pokemon is, since the trainer is who puts in the work and makes the decisions in battle. Even shit like mega evolution emphasizes this by being something only possible through a strong bond between pokemon and trainer. Remove the latter, and it becomes a torturous and painful experienceHumans do still exist at the core of the pokemon world and thus should be the driving force for most story. Not impossible to do so with just pokemon, but the world isn’t just pokemon nor should it be. The pokemon really should just be around to keep things interesting for said stories, but you’re not gonna get much good if they get sole center stage. Plus people still love the human characters, why just do away with them?also unpopular opinion but i’m fundamentally against the idea of games only centered on pokemon. I don’t care how good it was, shit like PMD shouldn’t exist period
>>58927420at the most (and the most optimal) it should be human bond with pokemon.
