Partly because they never once tried to make L: Z-A actually be an XY remake, continuation or spiritual successor and partly because it looks like the series has two new title releases happening this year. Never mind had you been paying attention to the latest reveals from the theft of Game Freak's data, you'd already know '26 is Gen 10, '27 is DLC for that and there's a Legends: Galar planned, with 2030, I think, the tentative release date for Gen 11 with no mention of any follow-up DLC for L: Z-A (and to be fair, had you played it, you'd know the story's done at the end of the DLC, save the leggo hunts). New console's likely being released in 2032 or 2033, meaning new Gen likely 2 years after that (2034 or '35) and probably another two years after that for an XY redux putting it at 2036 or '37. It's only another 11 years, suck it up.

I like how they couldn't of even bothered to add the Pokemon that in returning characters parties(such as Lysandre's honchkrow or AZ's sigilyph) but I'm not surprised that the games don't give a fuck
