When I was like 5-8 years old, my first playthrough of Ruby (any Pokémon game) had a level 100 Blaziken and a level 60 something Exploud with Overheat. I also thought that stat drops in a battle are permanent but I still used Overheat on Exploud all the time for some reason

It's ironic that the generation that introduced minmaxing in stats has probably this big amount (if not the highest altogether) of mixed attackers. I know mixed attackers weren't half bad in gen 3 anyway (compared to gen 4+), but it's still wondering.

In terms of comp, it's doo doo feces, like a lot of Gen 1-3 mons. Official VGC wasn't a thing until 2008, so "viability" wasn't something people cared about in Gen 3 unless you were already terminally online.
I can't wait for XY remakes when this thing will get a mega with Punk Rock and a genuinely good stat distribution but still end up in PU because it got powercrept by the past 3 regional gimmicks
