Pokemon is designed for children. It has little to no appeal as an adult outside of battling with fully trained mons.

The only time I get bored of replying a pokemon game is when it's a back to back playthrough. Like I beat shining Pearl last month and I did a playthrough of brilliant diamond right after to get all the version exclusives and it was a slog. I started and finished a new playthrough of Pokémon shield back in June because I lost my 600 hour save in 2024 after my launch switch died and I started a pokemon sword playthrough back on tuesday and beat it friday night and it wasn't as much of a slog as the back to back sinnoh
