Horizons' main story is coming to an end pretty soon (possibly as soon as April), and since it hasn't been exceptionally popular (not sure how it does in Japan, but international Netflix numbers show older seasons like Journeys, XY, and Indigo League are outperforming it), it's all but certain the current cast with Liko and Roy will not be returning. So, what's next for the Pokemon anime? Will Ash return? Will it follow the game story, or will it be original like Journeys and Horizons? And if Horizons ends before the new games come out, how will they fill the time?

This question has been asked so many times with the same answers it lost all the effects it could have:
>Oooh they could do a filler anime for the next few months (Never mind the toxic crunch it creates)
>Oooh they should do jump to Gen 10 asap (If it's bad the same "Gen X can't come soon enough" posts will happen for the next few years but for Gen 11)
>Oohh why are *current anime*fags so defensive?
You fags have systematically crippled the discussion around the Pokemon anime so much by being so repetitive to a sickening extent in three years alone. Which is so impressive because that underlines the amount of autism it accumulated after two decades.
>Duur they should just end it
They couldn't care less for the singular anon who can't enjoy a show which isn't targeted at him anymore. Just stop watching then.

Terminate shopro's contract.

A reboot of the Ashime for the 25th anniversary

>Will Ash return
No unless they change his VA, I think there was some drama there
>>
Ash is obviously coming back whether it be in a movie or mini series

Why can't they just make a normal-looking, cool and competent male protagonist?

Nah bro the 1000 episode was about fucking Lillie so the anime's 30th anniversary won't have him either

His Japanese voice actress retired. He's not coming back. They are tied together tightly in Japan.

They'd recast if they had to. It would be ridiculous for petty Japanese social politics to control a franchise as big as Pokemon with a large international audience.

Yeah Ash's VA was outted for bullying her coworkers and being racist on twitter. Which I think is based but it's not something you can do when VA'ing a kid who befriends everyone and respects all cultures.

Hopefully they never do something with trash OCs again since they evidently suck at it. Just make something like a mystery dungeon anime with Pokemon the main characters who can talk and humans the background characters.

They refused to bring back May in a speaking role because her VA has the RFK Jr. speaking condition.

Horizons is in no way ending before Gen 10 drops.

No but anon some eceleb said he had a secret source that said it was!

Why are people like this.

A humiliation ritual.

Horizons slopped and flopped and won't be remembered at all unlike the superior timeline original anime

The English dub's "season 3" starts on episode 90 has 47 episodes. This puts the end of the season at episode 136, so 8 episodes left after episode 128 airs tomorrow. This means the show would end between mid-April and May depending on if it takes any weeks off.
So why does this matter? Most likely, this number was in the contracts made between TPCi and the TV stations and streaming services that acquired the rights to distribute the show. Basically, the distributors bought a 47-episode package and TPCi is required to provide them 47 episodes. If there are any episodes beyond what the distributors bought, TPCi would have to either amend their contracts (unlikely) or sell them a completely new package, a "season 4". No series has had four seasons since DP. Of course, that doesn't mean it can't happen, but it would be a significant break from precedent for the dub.
A similar thing happened with Journeys, as the Master's 8 ended but the dub season still had more than ten episodes left, basically confirming the epilogue arc before it was announced.
