People would enjoy experimental mechanics like Gigantamax or Paradoxmons more if we didn't view the series in such a big picture way, GameFreak's wants the series to be more like a normal franchise where each game has it's own little flavor, but the series also has this dedication to continuity and building off the previous entry with things like the National Dex and Pokemon Home, and so experimentation and pushing the envelope can sometimes feel out of place and "not Pokemon."
