Do you think the re-release of FRLG will make people realize the split was bad and pokémon was actually more fun before it?It's still not late enough, Gamefreak can still undo the split in gen 10 and go back to pokémon's roots.
noI am interested in a pre-split meta tho
>>58943451Hmm... I wonder if there was anything else that happened to Sneasel between gens 3 and 4? A new evolution perhaps? Nah. People stopped using Sneasel because its STAB moves were finally supported by it's highest attack stat!
>>58943451The split was a godsend and the games peaked in terms of fun during the DS era and then again in PLA Gen 9.
bump
>>58943479stating the obvious between gens doesn’t matter in these threads, it’s all disingenuous shitposting
>>58943451People who buy FRLG don't even care. They just want in on the dead kanto craze.
>>58943451>There are double the number of gens with the split than those without itYou lost
>>58943451I think one of the biggest problems killing pokemon is the move coverage creep. Too many pokemon have too much access to move that are too powerful. The physical/special split is part of this, but most of the problem is being too lenient with move distribution, which was more strict in early gens. The thing is, it isn't so terribly useless to have mixed attacking stats if they actually gave you access to attacking with additional types. Now that pretty much every type has access to powerful moves of both the physical and special variety, pokemon get one shot too often and how good or bad something is can be decided 100% by being weak to moves like Close Combat and Earthquake because those moves are handed out like candy, even when it doesn't make sense. You got to be more creative with movesets and make more deliberate choices when it was just automatically dictated that certain types had to attack you with certain stats. I wouldn't undo the physical special split 100%, but I would make it go back to being that generally speaking, most of the time, certain types would almost always be coming at you with a certain stat. Moves like Flare Blitz either shouldn't exist, or should have very very limited distribution. Maybe Abomasnow can have Wood Hammer, because Abomasnow is fucking dogshit, but generally speaking the grass type should be special attacks, etc.
>>58943451RU doesn't exist in Gen 4, so this is a false equivalency
>>58943451>shitmon moved from tier nobody plays to tier nobody plays in fanfic meta in old gens therefore the phys special split was bad
>>58943451>Do you think the re-release of FRLG will make people realize the split was bad and pokémon was actually more fun before it?no because that's not true
>zoomtard when they can’t evolve their sneasel into a ugly nugen coombait
>>58943451
>>58943451Pre-split fucking sucks and you're delusional to think otherwsie
>>58943451so do these threads ever acknowledge the fallacies being made or just blow past them
>>58944317idgi
>>58943576>Flare Blitz either shouldn't exist,Nigga the reason flare blitz see usage is because there no move that close to it power for a fire physical fire types
>>58943576Every Pokemon getting Close Combat these days feels so weird, the move's biggest downside was supposed to be its limited-ish distribution
>>58944486And that's a bad thing, how?
>>58944404All we care about is laughing at the guy who keeps making these threads because he's still mindbroken over the phys/spec split.
>>58944486And there shouldn't be. It should have extremely limited distribution. Someone like emboar can have flare blitz. Most other pokemon should have to be forced to use special stats if they want to be attacking with fire. You know how Rock is effectively a physical attacking type outside of a few specific cases with rare moves? That's how it should be with most types. The way to fight power creep is to give more pokemon opportunities to have unique niches. Sometimes you can do this with abilities, but they have to start doing it with movesets. Different sets of BST would actually become viable if everything didn't have access to a 90+ BP move of their preferred attacking stat for whatever types they can attack with.
>>58944486Blaze kick is a great move, arguably better than Flare Blitz. It just isn't handed out like candy to so many pokemon. Fire lash is also pretty decent but not nearly as good as blaze kick/flare blitz.
Why do you guys even reply to automated threads?
>>58944848The only Pokemon that actually uses Blaze Kick is physical Genesect, and only because it doesn’t learn Flare Blitz or any alternative to hitting Steel types like Close Combat. It arguably is worse than Fire Punch since its only stronger by 10 BP but is 90% accurate.
We get it you're struggling to dilate over Sneasel being in gen 4 NU.No need to ritualpost over your axe wound.
>Power creep was so bad in Gen 4 that most Pokemon got bumped town a tier>Despite this, both RS and DP Sneasel have UU sets>DP Sneasel doesn't even have a set for it's proper tier, but it has a set for PU which isn't an official tier and Sneasel isn't even on the unofficial list on Smogon so I dunno why it has a set. This feels like a weird and bad example.
