>over world catching>seamless battles>pokemon actually making contact when doing physical moves>archipelago region>sailing/gliding between islands>we're getting a new generation of Pokemon designs to fall in love withI can't wait bros.
>>58945756Cannibalism too…
I really hope gen X has to restart development because someone spilled soda on a keyboard
>>58945756I hope you enjoy each gym being a separate DLC released throughout 2026 with 2027 being the post-game DLC
>>58945756fucking based, greece is already done to the ground by popculture and every second romhack, we're getting something original
What does seamless battles mean? It better not mean no more turn-based battles. Also I hope they go back to having Battle Environments for Pokémon Battles like in previous gens instead of having them take place right where it started like in gen 9. The Move animations in gen 9 look so stupid and dumbed down because they have to account for battles being able to happen nearly everywhere with uneven ground and so on.
>>58945756Just kiddingWE'RE GOING TO BRAZIL
>>58946135I don't get your angle with the DLC. SV's base game had a ton of content and the DLC introduced a lot more, are you mad that they didn't charge full price for a third version like they used to?
Ohmori's magnum opus is coming. It took Masuda a few games to peak so the same will be true here
>>58946157>What does seamless battles mean?It means that there's no transistion screens before battles to commence, they happen right there. Also, I hope that they don't go back to battle environments, it's better for them to happen right there on the map.
>>58946194>SV's base game had a ton of content with a completely empty landscape, the same team star raid and follow up cutscene over and over, the same titan battle and follow up cutscene over and over, little to no buildings to enter (even the gyms are all outdoors) and the final area being a boring descent into a disco ball room>The DLC introduced a lot more with another completely empty landscape, a bunch of boring go-fetch sidequests, missing mons slapped lazily into an area jarringly split into four quadrants and another descent to fight a fucking turtleWow lots of content there, holy shit definitely worth the money
>>58945756I didn’t play Gen 9 but the FRLG announcement has me in a Pokemon mood again. Might play ZA in the meantime
>>58946255>completely empty landscapeThree full story paths. Titan fights that upgrade Koraidon or Miraidon and change traversal. Team Star raids with unique rules. Open overworld encounters instead of random grass rolls. Tera Raids. Co op exploration. SV has the entire map layered with content and it's not enough for you but I bet you praise the fuck out of older games when routes are short hallways with a few trainers and grass patches. That's the epitome of content to you troglodytes while you pretend like SV has nothing to offer. I share a board with retards who only want to be angry at something.
>>58946292>Three full story paths. With everything repeated constantly.>Titan fights that upgrade Koraidon or Miraidon and change traversal.Low effort scaled up mon and repeated sandwich cutscene>Team Star raids with unique rules.Same rules every time, play the games>Open overworld encounters instead of random grass rolls.Been a thing since LGPE, zero effort to pop Pokemon moving around randomly on a map interacting with nothing>Tera Raids.Basic type-change with every mon having one of the same 19 hats>Co op exploration.Minimum of what you'd expect from a Switch game>SV has the entire map layered with content and it's not enough for you but I bet you praise the fuck out of older games when routes are short hallways with a few trainers and grass patches. That's the epitome of content to you troglodytes while you pretend like SV has nothing to offer. I share a board with retards who only want to be angry at something.Insults = no actual argument and seething that they know they're wrong but too retarded to admit it
>>58946200I disagree. I'd like Battle Environments back, they could look so cool if enough effort were put in to them and are done righy. Having Pokémon Battles take place right where they start puts great constraints on the animations during battles. Less fancy effects and camera movements. They have to account for the ground not being a flat plane and cramped areas. And even then it can look weird with NPCs being able wander near or more commonly other Wild Pokémon. In SV pushing in the right stick sets the camera to the usual angle and enables some animations having camera movement of their own. But that doesn't fully resolve the issue. That option can only be done if the game determines the area to battle takes place in to be suitable for it, with that being the case for most major story battles where it's always on, those battles tend to take place in place that looks kind of like a Battle Environment anyway. Battle transitions are common thing other JRPGs, in Pokémon there's a massive variety of battle transitions based on various different factors. Is it really worth making the animations and visual presentation of battles be less good just because some are annoyed by waiting a few extra seconds for a battle to start? There's still the animations of the Wild Pokémon/the opposing Trainer challenging the player, then the player sending out their Pokémon and if it's a Trainer Battle the other Trainer's Pokémon being sent out. If anything, just add an option in the options list to use quick simplified battle transitions if it's such big deal.Although I do get that all this really is just a matter of difference in taste.
>>58946387>With everything repeated constantly. So you just hate Pokemon in general then? That's always been the formula, 8 gyms in a row, trials and kahunas, evil team bases etc. Learn how RPG progression works. In SV, the paths all push different mechanics and character arcs, that alone is more variety than the basic bitch "beat gym and stop villain" that you masturbate furiously over.>Titan fights are just scaled up mons and sandwichesThey're boss battles that are gatekeepers for upgrades to your legendary mount. Beating them fundamentally changes how you explore the region. Let me guess, HMs were somehow deeper than this.>Team Star raids use the same rules every timeAuto battle timers and staged boss fights with custom Starmobiles is more interesting than just fighting five trainers in a hallway like we would have gotten in the past. >Overworld encounters been a thing since LGPEAnd SV improves on it with biome based spawning, outbreaks, and roaming Tera Pokemon. >Basic type-change with every mon having one of the same 19 hatsTeratypes shook up competitive play by giving every mon the ability to change a type at any time. You're not even trying.>Minimum of what you'd expect from a Switch game Compared to what mainline Pokémon had before? Which was none. If you have this much contempt for SV then you need the same attitude in multiples for every generation that came before it. You're not going to though, you're going to keep claiming that SV has no content while fellating older Pokemon games that were far more linear and mechanically narrow.
>>58946489>then you need the same attitude in multiples for every generation that came before it. You don’t actually
>>58946503Yeah, you do. Of course unless you want to come off as completely irrational.
>>58946509You don’t actually. Nothing is forcing that mindset.
>>58946542>Nothing is forcing that mindset.Ryback is
>>58946546Nope not even your forced meme.
>>58946489>the paths all push different mechanics and character arcs, that alone is more variety than the basic bitch "beat gym and stop villain" that you masturbate furiously over.Exact same thing over and over isn't progression it's laziness. Each path is one concept repeated over and over. You have standards through the floor if youre seriously defending this.>They're boss battles that are gatekeepers for upgrades to your legendary mount. Beating them fundamentally changes how you explore the region. Let me guess, HMs were somehow deeper than this. The boss battle themselves are repetitive. And adding one more type of floor texture your dinobike can walk on doesnt change how you explore the game, it just removes pointless annoying roadblocks that got in your way to get to certain places.>Auto battle timers and staged boss fights with custom Starmobiles is more interesting than just fighting five trainers in a hallway like we would have gotten in the past.So you prefer mons running around "battling" (them wiggling and the enemies fainting) the same groups of enemies over and over then fighting the same palette-swapped starmobile for every boss fight instead? Lots of difference there.>And SV improves on it with biome based spawning, outbreaks and roaming Tera Pokemon. All basic features of a Pokemon game except some with sparkles, wow>Teratypes shook up competitive play by giving every mon the ability to change a type at any time. You're not even trying. So making Protean a gimmick is shaking things up? Talk about coping>Compared to what mainline Pokémon had before? Which was none. You realize SWSH had co-op too dumbass?>If you have this much contempt for SV then you need the same attitude in multiples for every generation that came before it. You're not going to though, you're going to keep claiming that SV has no content while fellating older Pokemon games that were far more linear and mechanically narrow.More seething insults
>>58946554>Everything is repeated constantlyGyms are one concept repeated eight times, the Elite Four is one concept repeated four times, villain hideouts are one concept repeated room after room. The difference in SV is that the three paths are mechanically distinct and offer something different from each other. >Titan Pokemon just remove pointless annoying roadblocks that got in your way to get to certain places. That's how progression systems work. Have you actually played any other videogames? The difference is that in SV your mount evolves in mobility and that mobility meaningfully changes traversal routes.>Auto battles are just wiggling.Again, if repetition invalidates content, then every generation’s grunt gauntlets are equally lazy. SV at least experiments with pacing and structure and these are different from the other paths.>SWSH had co-op too dumbassIt had raid battles. It did not have seamless four player overworld exploration>All basic features of a Pokemon game except some with sparkles, wowNot historically, you can say it should have happened sooner but you expansion of the encounter system is still an expansion.>So making Protean a gimmick is shaking things up? Talk about copingTera is once per battle commitment that can redefine offensive and defensive tactics for your team. You're ignoring the scale of it being available to every Pokemon at any time.Criticizing SV saying it offers nothing new or meaningful while excusing identical repetition in earlier games is irrational. The standard should be applied evenly or not at all. You've yet to contribute anything substantive to this discussion, just the same things over and over with no level of critical thinking put into them.
>>58946613NTA but dude, give up with them, it's not worth the effort. SV, objectively are quite content-dense, yes, but that anon doesn't like the content on offer, so, in their mind it doesn't count as content for them. Either that, or they're shitposting and being hyperbolic about everything, they'll pick the one that makes them look better in the end.
What other monsters are getting redesigns?
>>58945756Same, OP, nice to see someone looking forward to enjoying it rather than looking forward to hating it.>>58946908Hasn't that been the design they use on pretty much all non-anime marketing material and merch for years now? Why have they suddenly decided the games need to conform to that, instead of the other way around?
>>58947193It's closer to the Sugimori art and sprites.
>>58946255Un sweaty if you actually SV you would know it's the best game of all time, just look at the sales numbers! SwordShart is the worst game of all time by the way, just ignore the sales numbers
>>58946489>So you just hate Pokemon in general then? /v/iggers and /vp/edos do
>>58945756>SEA Wtf
>>58946157>It better not mean no more turn-based battles. It's it, no more turn based anon
