There was a toys r us event where I lived and it was one of the happiest days of my life. I always wish there were community centers to play games. Lots of college campuses have game rooms and stuff but gaming culture hasn't really reached a point higher than the bus in elementary school and stuff. I had a link cable but I didn't know what it did, I brought it out on the playground and a bunch of kids were like "WOW WHAT LINK CABLE!!!!!!" and they traded a bunch of pokemon. I didn't even use it.

They gave it back though and I traded with my friend many many years later to get extra starters.

As somebody who loved Arceus - basically the only Pokemon game I've enjoyed since, idk, ORAS - ZA just didn't seem to have many of the aspects that I liked about Arceus. I liked the historical setting, natural environments, the familiar gameplay with small twists that made it interesting. Beyond having the Legends subtitle, ZA just seems like a completely different thing altogether from what I've seen of it. I appreciate that they tried to do something different and not let it get stale, but I feel like they went too far in a different direction. You need to have some continuity through the games if you want to build up a consistent audience. I was excited for another Legends game when it was first announced, but lost interest as more was shown.

Anyway, idk, I might check it out eventually if it goes on sale or something, I'm just not really in a rush to.
