Gen 3 should be part of the transitional era by Masuda's own admission RS were test runs for DP. Gen 5 should really be in its own category as this was when Masuda wanted to break away from the constraints of pokemon entirely and make a 'real' RPG in the vein of dragon quest or final fantasy

Transitional was lightyears better than Classic. Classic was about equal to Early Modern. While Early Modern had lower low points than Classic it also had higher high points than Classic. Dexcut/Modern is borderline irredeemable slop. Even with the DLCs they are broken incomplete games.

I'd say Let's Go if it wasn't so easy, modded it's worth it but taking the game as it is it's bad.
