Gen 5 is the greatest generation ever created in the history of the franchise. The story is unbelievably mature and shockingly grounded, the characters feel almost disturbingly human, and every single backstory is pure narrative gold. The villain radiates raw, unapologetic masculinity. He looks powerful, commanding, unmistakably manly, and absolutely nothing like a drag queen. I admire that he has his own son and raises him, instead of playing house with another man’s child. The plot is airtight, flawlessly logical, and utterly free of plot holes. And the setting, inspired by rural America without DEI, feels refreshingly authentic.
