Nintendo make their money off *their* audience ($70 BotW/TotK, $10 upgrade packs), Pokémon offer a better service to theirs (not charging for upgrades for released games, not charging full Nintendo bonus whack for games). Next 3D Mario, 3D Zelda, and Gen 10 will all be $80 (probably Smash, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon, too). Nintendo made a point about discussing "variable pricing" during the Switch 2 launch when MKW was revealed to be $80. The most profitable, top-tier franchises that get mainline games will have that $80 price tag slapped on them, almost certainly. Z-A and Pokopia are $70, as most likely be any remakes of gens or spin-offs.
