Guys, just replaced a dead battery in my Crystal cart and now it won‘t boot. It get‘s stuck on a white screen right after the Nintendo logo.Worked fine before. In fact I cleaned off some corrosion on the back of the board before changing the battery. Tested it right after that and was still working fine. It doesn‘t look like I screwed anything up on the PCB. Soldering might not be the cleanest but it should still work alright, no?
Why dont you do what you should have done in the first place and go to someone who actually knows what they're doing with these PCBs?
>>58967633Not an expert but 1. the game should boot regardless of the battery, you probably already know. 2. the contacts pins look pretty worn, the contacts for the console, in the top right of the image seem like they touch the little circles on top, you might have to do some work so they don't connect. They should look like the ones at the bottoom.good luck
>>58967644>that'll be 200 dollars bro
>>58967633Did you seal it back up and blow on it?Might wanna run the gold contacts with some isopropyl alcohol and a high grit (1000+) sand paper otherwise maybe you used too much solder for the battery and its short circuiting something
>>58967633maybe its the lighting but that board looks fried where you soldered the battery
>>58967664Yeah, figured. Just from the fact that it was working just minutes before too. Very likely messed something up.I’ll give the whole board a good clean and resolder the battery later, because on second thought it does look bad. Also, just for good measure, here‘s the back of the board.
>>58967633Check you haven't shorted anything with solder etc, go over it with your phones macro cam and a light to check
>>58967633You didn't install the battery with the polarity switched around did you? Because that can very well brick it if you did.
>>58968695Negative side is facing up with the lead going to the correct terminal, so no, I didn‘t thankfully. Still worried that I shorted something, even though it doesn‘t really look like it. Where would it even short out to?
>>58968748Maybe you could momentarily remove the battery and see if the game will boot normally again.
