The state of gaming and pop culture in general is dire. There's literally nothing to look forward to right now.
Pokemon is a mixed bag to put it lightly, but at least it's consistent and the presents will create a sense that something in the overall subculture had changed or progressed, a feeling you rarely feel from anything nowadays.
Like, I don't expect to like the new starters, but at least I'll move into a world on which there's a 10th set of pokemon starters and that's inherently slightly different / novel to the current world.

I grew up with pokemon r/b and have waited for new pokemon every generation. I don’t always like the designs but there’s always one or two I really like

I’ve been playing resident evil all night anyways, so I might as well watch the presentation in a few hours
