Had it delivered from Amazon during my senior year of high school. Niece was born about a week later so that's also a pleasant memory.
I moved to a new city and started my early adult life around the time these games came out. The hype cycle was way more exciting than the actual games turned out to be. I'm hoping Gen 10 delivers the island concept much more realistically.

When I saw the announcement I started screaming like a retard and my dad told me to shut the fuck up but I was so excited I couldn’t contain it. Followed every bit of news religiously, even when we went on vacations in the spring and summer I’d ask for my dad’s phone or use the 3DS’ internet browser to check for any new info or leaks. It finally came out on my birthday and I was ecstatic that day waiting to get home and played long into the night. I loved every second of it. They’re far from perfect but I have such fond memories of these games.
