Fire Red or Leaf Green?
>>58968045Fire Red, and it's not even close
>>58968045Leafgreen and its not even close
>>58968045For gen 3, you can only get Slowpoke in LG so it's the optimal pick if you want to complete the dex.
>>58968054why>>58968071why
>>58968045Scizor and Slowking shouldn't be on here.
>>58968081Starmie solos the entire game
Slowbro and Victreebel are the greatest designs of Gen 1 and solid team picks.
>>58968256they are ugly shitmons>>58968240>tryharding
>>58968278>tryharding is when you play the way I don't likeStarmie is also the only kanto native pokemon with Illuminate which is used in shiny hunting
>>58968045From the exclusive standpoint, definitely leaf green. That thing has>starmie>slowpoke>sandash (who is not great but looks cool)Fr has arcanine, which us cool if you don‘t use charizard. But stuff like scizor is literally not only postgame, but also a trade exclusive. Also slowpoke is the ONLY pokemon that is fully exclusive to leafgreen. Meaning you can‘t get it in rse, fr or even any of the gamecube games
>>58968349nigger who gives a fuck about literal who shitmons like starmie and slowpoke lmao
Green is the canonical version:>on GBC enveryoment is green and protag is red>bulbasaur is the canonical start of Red in special >on the clefairy manga, Green (Gary/Blue) uses a charmander, because Red would be using a Bulbasaur too, but it was replaced by Clefairy
>>58968045Slowpoke and Starmie >> all of Fire Red exclusives
>>58968045Leaf Green probably
>>58968045>arcanineThe choice is clear. With the exception of maybe the slowpoke line FireRed has the better exclusives.
>being so insecure over the version you chose you start console warring over itJust buy both
>>58968362Isn't Red's canonical starter charmander
>>58968045LeafGreen for Sandslash and Slowbro.
Probably LG for Sandslash. My gen 1 teams always end up having Blastoise and Parasect anyway so I don't care about the grass and water exclusives.
>>58968045I always pick Leaf Green because I always pick the Grass starters. Just makes sense to go with Venusaur in the game where Venusaur is on the box art.But Fire Red does have better exclusives because Arcanine is my favorite Gen 1 Pokemon. Fortunately I don't miss it too badly since Fire is not great in FRLG.
Leaf green has defence form deoxys, so that one
>>58968045most of these pokemon come well after the halfway point, and the ones that don't aren't particularly good. johtomons aren't even worth considering since you can't get them until you beat the game
>>58968045i prefer leaf green overall but i do miss arcanine and the oddish line
>>58968045A romhack that includes all the mons instead of splitting them up for the sole purpose of selling games
>buy both>shitpost on both sides winding up the spergs who can't just get both and actually NEED to make a choice
>>58969139Nobody actually bought both versions. The whole point is to get you to trade with your friends. The original FR/LG even came with a wireless adapter for free to facilitate that. Pokemon used to be a social game.
You'd have to be retarded to pick FireRed
>>58969149That was a fun concept the first time, but don't fucking pretend that's why they keep doing dual versions. It's purely to sell more of the same game
>>58969149right, but this pair of games can only do local trading. you couldn't even trade with yourself unless you had two consoles.
>>58969154No, you, as a 40 year old autistic neckbeard with disposable income might buy both versions along with two consoles to trade between them in your basement, but the average kid still saves up their pennies to buy just one version and then they trade and battle with friends. Today it might be done online, but the concept is the same. With the GTS, it's easier than ever to make up for the missing Pokemon in each game.>>58969164What did you expect, that they'd only release one of them? Of course they released the pair. You'll complain too when they release Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald next instead of just Emerald.
Are most other people able to play their Switch copy? Mine still says I can't play it yet?
Leafgreen has Starmie, FR has no good exclusives since Arcanine is a worse version of Charizard.
>>58968045Most of the LG exclusives are mons that were also available in Ruby/Sapphire regional dex. Fire Red is objectively better, only 2 lines that were in RS vs. 5 in LG.
>>58969171Kids don't buy games, their clueless parents do. Trying to spin this anti-consumer practice as a positive thing that encourages social interactions is pure cope. How about I get a complete game instead of them arbitrarily removing mons from one version?
>>58968045The real answer is Leaf Green because everyone will get Fire Red so they will all beg you to trade because they're npcs.
>>58969228Some do, some don't. Some kids do both (save gift money to buy games while parents ALSO buy them games - cf my own cousin's 15 and 10 year old, who've been doing that for about 5 years). You not buying games as a kid does not mean EVERY kid got it handed to them for free (my 2nd cousins who lived next door got NO video game console until the youngest turned 11). It's almost as if parents the world over and across generations parent their children differently to others of the era, nation or world.
>>58968045fire red, obviously
>>58968240Starmie plus Snorlax is broken
Leaf Green is the better version, I especially love the postgame exclusives it has (mainly Sneasel).
