30th anniversary is here, it's moment to share why do you love Pokémon as a franchise, can be the games, the anime, the cards, good 'ol manga, the shitty smartphone games/apps, the porn, the plushies, the pokémon world itself, anything! So tell us anon, why do you LOVE this franchise?
autism
Indoctrinated by Shudo, gaslit by Masuda, stuck around because of Sugimori and now I only care because of Tajiri. Missed potential franchise that gets rewarded for almost getting it right every time. There will never be a perfect game, but that's what makes it a drug. The next game is almost good enough. Eventually, you realize you're better off breaking the habit
The world presented. Yeah there's been huge retcons since the start, shifts in the tone, some shallow aspects or the lore never to be fleshed out, stuff people argue over. But the basic core concept of pokemon is still magical. Different people have way different ideas of what pokemon's world is to them, but I guess that's a positive. There's a lot of mon games I like more over their monsters, gameplay, characters, etc. But pokemon's setting manages to still be unique and charming. I guess because other mon settings have monsters be some unseen aspect, or take place in more openly fantasy settings, but pokemon manages to stay both familiar and fantastical.
>>58968608I like horse training simulators.I like monster trainers.I love manager games.Pokemon is basically all of those 3 with some collector elements, it realymakes you feel that it's your responsibility to raise a team from the boonies to take a pro challenge. That fantasy is the best aspect of the game, being a manager of monsters for combat.
>>58968608The monster designs, the music, atmosphere, the anime has charismatic characters. Also overall it's easy to remember the move names, what they do etc.. Somehow it's well put together. Also spinoff games, because Pokemon thanks to it's popularity has many amazing ones.
>>58968608Memes and porn.If I had to give a more serious answer, however, it's because I've just sort of accepted it's part of my life at this point, considering I've stuck with it for so long. Admittedly, I don't plan on buying Gen 10 if it's exclusive to the Switch 2, so don't call me a consoomer.t. pirated legends z-a and had to use mods to make mega dimension more palatable

The core concept of training up a group of funny little guys into funny bigger guys. Other monster collection RPGs focus on things like fusion or skill inheritance that encourage you to keep swapping out your team or to just fucking kill them to make another monster stronger, but Pokemon is the exact opposite. The more time you put into one of your team members, the stronger it gets. And that tickles my autistic brain to the point I grow attached to the little retards.
>go on an adventure>find new mates>explore a new world>find secrets, find lore>every design is a hit>you start to like your team mates etc.>great ost>great side charactersThese games are fucking amazing anon. But I wish gym leaders would have more plot or stuff to do. Like you get these amazing character designs and they do nothing with them. I am not talking about huge story arcs, but maybe some minigames, some side dialogues etc.
