Sound-type moves would be effective against Steel, Fighting, and Psychic types.

>Steel
Because metal makes a lot of noise when struck, and because most musical instruments are made of metal and amplify sound.
>Fighting
Because a good musical rhythm makes muscles move unconsciously to the beat.
>Psychic
Because loud sounds distract the mind.

Sound-type moves would be less effective against Bug, Grass, and Rock types because insects are not very affected by loud sounds, and plants and rocks are deaf.

On the other hand, Bug, Fighting, and Psychic-type moves are effective against Sound-type Pokémon, while Steel and Electric-type moves are not very effective.

>bug
idk, but everyone knows that the bug type needs an offensive boost.
>fighting
Because a good dancer can perform well with music.
>psychic
Because someone with a lot of musical knowledge can master any rhythm and musical instrument.
>steel
Same reason as begins.
>electric
Because many musical instruments run on electricity.

This would improve the bug type offensively and the bug, grass and rock types defensively.
While the steel type (the best defensively in the game) would have a good weakness, as would electric.
The fighting and psychic types would be both effective and weak against sound.

Finally, sound-type Pokémon would be immune to sound-type moves.

Make it super-effective against Rock and Ice!

We don't need a sound type
