>new games get announced
>the graphics look great
>the new pokemon designs look great
>the new trainer designs look great
>they're not available until next year (and probably the end of the year, knowing pokemon), so they've got plenty of time to bake in the oven and get everything polished
I'm excited for the new games!
It really does feel like Game Freak listened.

Pomuken is adorable, I'm picking it as my starter :)
>>
I remember the weebs who insisted on calling Pokemon by their jap names back in the BW days too
>>
>>58982493
they could've listened and released it this year; there was already an extra year
>>
Why are the international versions called Winds and Waves while the Japanese versions are called Wind and Wave?

>insisted on calling Pokemon by their jap names back in the BW days too
to be fair, that was when the new games weren't localized for 6mo or more, so people were introduced to and got used to japanese names
>>
>>58982512
I'm Japanese and idk what the English name is because I watch the Japanese stream. What's the English name?
>>
>>58982546
Imagine wanting LESS development time. You are unironically the problem with this franchise.

>>58982810
I'm fine with that. I miss the days when info would drop first in CoroCoro and then get shared elsewhere. I'm hoping that's the case again for this gen. I also miss seeing new Pokemon in the anime first. We'll probably never have another situation like when Blaziken showed up at the end of the Gold and Silver anime.
>>58982811
I wonder why they went with that name when it's clearly a dog. What's a Toby? My dictionary doesn't have anything.
>>58982826
Why would it need to reference fire? Wakashamo doesn't reference fire either but it's name is fine. Pomuken references how it looks and what it is. I bet your gf likes the pokemon with autistically obvious names like kusaihana.

>>the graphics look great
This is subjective at best but it at least looks like it could pass for a lived-in Pokemon title.
>>the new pokemon designs look great
The dog is the only explicitly detailed 'mon that doesn't look like it was made to be safe and approachable design-wise.
>>the new trainer designs look great
Probably the only thing correct about this entire shilling.
>>they're not available until next year (and probably the end of the year, knowing pokemon), so they've got plenty of time to bake in the oven and get everything polished
Game Freak/Nintendo had 3+ years to get this shit right from when it potentially started development, and they're getting a full extra year and a half (estimating a holiday release) on it. The game will have then been in development hell for almost 6 years since it started hitting the drawing board, and 5 years (a new fucking record) since the last generation. This shit is fucking abysmal.
>I'm excited for the new games!
You're either fucking retarded with all that's patently wrong with TPC/Nintendo right now, or you think people are naive enough to believe you aren't shilling.
Fuck off.
>>
>>58982887
>The dog is the only explicitly detailed 'mon that doesn't look like it was made to be safe and approachable design-wise.
The dog is the safest industry plant starter though
>>
>>58982859
Pomuken is too obvious lad. It's literally pomeraniandog
>>
>>58982887
Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?
>>
>more cuteslop "its a circle" starters
Remember when we had pocket MONSTERS?
>>
>>58982901
>The dog is the safest industry plant starter though
It's fundamentally more detailed (i.e.; difficult for kids to draw, cost more to make merch of) compared to the smooth-brained appearances of the other two - the only part of the starters that actually matters in modern Pokemon.
>>58982912
I woke up on the wrong side of the bed years ago.
Still playing catch-up, or are you still sticking your head in the sand and ignoring the problems plaguing the franchise because it's hip and trendy to to be involved in instead of just playing it because you like it?
>>
>>58982922
Monsters like an obese manlet with scrawny t-rex arms?
>>
>>58982887
>This is subjective at best but it at least looks like it could pass for a lived-in Pokemon title.
I think it's too soon to say that, we've barely seen anything. I was referring to the graphical fidelity of what we saw.
>The dog is the only explicitly detailed 'mon that doesn't look like it was made to be safe and approachable design-wise.
The grass starter looks fine too. I don't care for the water starter but it looks fine. We didn't see anything else though.
>Probably the only thing correct about this entire shilling
Being excited for something is shilling? Even when I'm posting on the board FOR that thing? Shilling would be if I was posting it on /v/
>Game Freak/Nintendo had 3+ years
Why do you say that as if it's a bad thing? When the games have a shorter development time we get situations like Sword/Shield where ideas don't get fleshed out enough, or situations like Scarlet/Violet where the games are great but suffer from poor performance and bad graphics. Longer development is good because it gives them time to flesh out they're ideas and time to polish the games to smooth out performance and visuals. Shorter development times are literally the reason this franchise suffered for a few years, this is fucking awesome. Don't forget that the original games were I development for 6 years.
>You're either...
You should try pulling that dick out of your ass, you would be much happier if you weren't bleeding from your rectal all the time
>Fuck off
Eat a dick. Oh wait, you already do.
>>
>>58982922
Squirtle and Bulbasaur are literally circles. Charmander has a circle for a head. Pikachu used to be a literal circle, and Eevee is also circular.
All of the Johto starters are circles. Hoenn too except for Treeko.
>>
>>58982935
>ignoring the problems plaguing the franchise

Charmander is literally a collection of circles
>>
>>58983291
This is just as bad as fags saying megas are x and y shaped
>>
>>58983305
All baby Pokemon are made to be circular because it makes them cute, and as they age (evolve) they get more jagged lines because it makes them look tougher. This is literally basic design principles.

That is where you're wrong. In the original starter trio, only Squirtle was made up primarily of circles and ovals. It is also why Squirtle is the worst of the trio, but it is still far, far better than what came later. The other two are cones, a far more complex and realistic shape to built anatomy off. The second generation was even better, with all three having some level of complexity to their designs.

Hoenn was a huge downgrade. Treecko was well-designed, but the other two began the trend of starters being primarily made up of circles and other rounded shapes. This got even worse in Sinnoh, where all three starters were rounded garbage solely made to sell toys. There were slight attempts to correct this in the next few generations that follow, even if garbage like Tepig or Rowlet making it to release.

Game Freak sadly jumped the shark when SWSH released. It ended up being the worst starters yet, with all three being glorified bobbleheads. The franchise has not recovered since that terrible day seven years ago. This batch is just the ultimate conclusion to all of this. Two are little more than singular curves, and the gay lizard is only saved from that fate by lazy noodle arms and a gaudy tail. It almost surprises me that Sobble wasn't the one added to this line-up. It would make a perfect trifecta of shit if it were thrown in here.

By the way, Pikachu is not a circle. It was more of a pear in its original design, with a very complex tail.
>>
>>58982792
So why not just call them Wind and Wave in English too?
>>
>>58982859
I think he's trolling you. It has something to do with the breed of dog it is, a pomeranian (you may have eaten one).

It's English name is like Pomichu

That's a retarded name

Both do sadly easy dogs in semi sizeable numbers. A restraint near me was shut down for keeping dog meat in the freezer next to other menu item food.

Sorry I thought the Japanese could take a joke. Maybe living in the USA fucked your sense of humour.

Yeah but if you wanted to talk about dozens of new mons and don't have the English names for 6 months you had to use pet names or Japanese, and people love talking about pokemon

So far, the Switch and Switch 2 era games have been a MASSIVE disappointment. Completely disgusting and gutted games.

This new game at least has passable graphics. But will we be able to catch them ALL?

I ha e very little faith in Gamefreak, but I won't judge until I see more.
>>
>>58982512

Way to sound like you weren’t even there. We didn’t get any English names for several months. Using the Japanese names was literally the only option.
