It was as simple as that. I'm seething at all those stupid events I couldn't claim as a kid or were simply impossible to get (Japan locked).
There's no explanation for how you get the tickets? They just spawn in your bag like magic? Fucking lazy.
>>58985440Oak gives them to you
I want to buy the Switch version of FRLG, but I have some questions about it:>Does the European version have the Game Corner slot machine minigame intact? Did they make any change to how it works?>Did they add the event tickets only for Japanese releases, or for everyone?>Did they do something with Altering Cave and the old lady's house on Seven Island?>Does the Trainer Tower have 8 floors, or only 4 like it was in the original Japanese versions?I live in Europe, so I want to know if I should buy from the European Nintendo eShop or change my account to America or something. Thanks guys!
>>58985429As a kid I always hated living too far from either CA or NY where all the events happened, I was never able to do a single one until gen 4 when they started doing Gamestop wireless distributions. Just had to stare longingly at the screenshots of things like the Deoxys and Navel Rock events on serebii.
>>58986386As a teen I hated the idea of having to publicly out myself as a pokemon player in order to obtain event legendaries
A streamer cleared the english gameThis is Oak's text
>>58986386I would have been desperate enough to emulate the games on my computer and use cheat codes to get the event items/Pokemon
>>58986470it's kinda weird that there isn't a text saying "you recieved tickets from prof oak"
>>58986716It's probably a LUA script to make it seem as if it was in the game but it's probably just a lazy code to give you the items.
>>58986386Even as a kid who lived ten minutes away from a Toys r Us that did the distributions it was impossible to get them. They'd give out maybe a few dozen, painstakingly slowly as you had to connect manually to each person, and they'd always say "sorry we're """"out""""""" of the item :)" when the employees got bored. Happened to me for Mew, and only one of my friends even managed to get one among a dozen kids.
>>58986341Why don't you just go look for a European let's play or streamer
>>58986755That's a good idea, I will try to find something.
>>58986740Dataminers revealed that the rom is a new revision called Rev A and was recompiled from the source code December 19th 2025. The romfs for the game also only contains the newly compiled GBA ROM and nothing else. The only other interesting thing from the datamines is that when thenewly recompiled ROM is ran in an emulator it makes system calls that don't exist in the retail GBA bios. They could have added text saying you got the items but GF were lazy and decided to make it an event flag instead
>>58986745So the DS really saved events.
>>58986790>only other interesting thingYou forgot the part where the emulator has entries for rse compatibility
>>58986820they probably did that just in case. Whether they're gonna release them for the 25th anniversary of RS is another questionI don't wanna get my hopes up yet
>>58986716>>58986790It's kinda funny that Oak just goes "you seem to enjoy travelling, hohoho" and slips the tickets in your bag with no indication or warning. If it wasn't for the internet talking about it, a lot of players would just get surprised the next time they're in Vermilion.
>>58986745My fucking copy of Leaf Green was fucked and wouldn't accept the Mew. I'm still mad
>>58986790No surprise shiny locks cockblocking?
>>58987000earlier, I saw a japanese guy that got a shiny deoxys on the switch
>>58986761Did you find anything? I was thinking of getting it but my friend was telling me something about the port shortcomings in terms of fps and the pixels being mor pixely or something, which isnt a killer but scuffed changes would put me off
>>58986790is this why gaytubers can't do ACE and other fun shit as well?
>>58986470Why does he act so weird here? Did he give us a ticket to Epstein island or something?
>>58986745It was designed with Japanese work ethnics in mind
>>58986820That doesn't necessarily mean anything, just that they've considered RSE in the code. It could mean they're working on getting RSE on Switch. It could also mean they looked into getting RSE on Switch but then changed their minds. We don't know.
>>58986790>not the exact same ROMpiratefags BLOWN THE FUCK OUT
