>tfw i'll never be as excited for a starter as I was for Chespin
So much evo potential, so many great fan evolutions. Chespin was so fucking cool during pre-XY. No starter has hit the same since.

I think I've only ever been excited to see what the Alola starters would turn into. They ended up being my favorite starters, so it all worked out.

I was pretty excited for Litten, but the disappointment at seeing Incineroar was immeasurable.

I didn't care much for Litten but I was disappointed by Incineroar all the same.

Also- while I thought Scorbunny was mediocre, I had hopes for it becoming Pokemon's King Kazma, which were elevated by Raboot. So what you describe is how I felt about Cinderace.

Chespin is and has always been incredibly lame. Should've scrapped it.

Far from it. It was the first Grass-type starter that isn't (fully) a reptile. Everyone was excited about it on that principle alone.
