Champions is made to recruit any Pokemon you want so you don't "need" to have other games, but it will make life easier. Some Pokemon like Ursaluna are still exclusive to PLA, and ZA has every mega which will be relevant in the first seasons.

>>58994269To actually answer only thing we know for sure is you need a Chesnaught, Delphox, Greninja and Eternal Flower Floette from ZA to get their Mega Stones in Champions. The Kalos starters you could probably get from trading on Home but Floette most likely isn't tradable. It probably won't be that good though so you'd be fine without it if you don't care.
