Set mode is a joke that doesn't make the game harder to begin with because unless your pokemon is underleveled you're going to have baseline more speed evs and outspeed them anyway.
I'd be happy with an HD-2D remake of a pokemon game, it beats getting yet another 3D remake that shrinks everyone down to doll proportions.
