I do think there is room to make more gimmicky player characters, like PLA's protagonist could be made a much more unique character compared to PT, since you can take into account you can get involved with battling and using Pokemon as more of an assist, if they wanted to go the route, they could have the Pokopia Ditto who can use a mix of different moves from different Pokemon, I've thought about a Pokemon Ranger as well, but I can't realistically see their gameplay translating into Smash besides as an assist trophy
