I fully expect Nintendo will want GF to have the game ready for release early 2027 for a very simple reason. It will give Nintendo's financials a huge boost ahead of the closing of the next fiscal year. Boosting Switch 2 hardware sales plus a huge software launch for Winds and Waves = VERY happy shareholders.

Nintendo almost certainly will be revealing a big holiday game in the coming months, maybe even a Mario game since there hasn't been a 3D one since 2017, and Pokemon will get to kick off the new year. Nintendo isn't going to take a financial hit during the holiday season, GTA6 or not.
