/vp/, what's your go-to? Serebii or Bulbapedia?
>>
>>59008701
>randomly looking up shit
bulbapedia
>specific game info
serebii
>>
>before bw
Serebii
>after bw
Bulbapedia, it's just more intuitive to browse
>>
>>59008707
What specific game info does serebii provide anymore?
>>
>>59008701
Pokemondb.
Bulbapedia is ok but sometimes has some fanfic bullshit tacked in and Serebii is like opening my dead grandpa's dilapidated closet.
>>
>>59008719
list of mons on each route.
I look it up if I decide to go back and do a living dex after finishing a game's story.
Also, it's convenient for what mystery gift codes currently work.
>>
>>59008701
Bulbapedia if I just want general shit. Serebii for movesets since I don't have to scroll past 50 pages of anime crap

Damn, people still use pokemondb?
>>
>>59008701
>Looking for item locations, route info, anything to do with location specific info especially regarding older generations
Serebii
>Looking at Pokemon BSTs, learnsets, Pokedex entries, egg groups, need to look up a move from a new generation
Bulbapedia
>>
>>59008736
>"Serebii for movesets since I don't have to scroll past 50 pages of anime crap"
>>59008738
"Bulbapedia for looking at Pokemon BSTs, learnsets, etc."
I feel like you anons would get along
>>
>>59008701
pokemondb and bulbapedo
serebii's ui is stuck in 2003
>>
>>59008721
What fanfic bullshit?

I stopped using it because it's laid out weirdly
>>
>>59008755
When will joe merrick stop sucking masuda's asian dick and fix serebii's UI? It feels like I'm looking in a time capsule
>>
>>59008763
I don't know what fanfic bullshit that anon is talking about, but Bulbapedia tries to force shit like the "first-partner Pokemon" meme instead of just calling it a starter like literally everyone else
>>
>>59008768
>wanting any website to have modern UI
>posting that shit on 4chan
FUCK OFF!

I like it, really easy to go to new pages if you’re following along trying to catch pokemon on every route or find all the items on a page like pic related.
>>
>>59008830
Hello, Joe Merrick.
>>
>>59008875
If you want a shitty modern UI, go post on Reddit, or a major social media service.
>>
>>59008701
Made the mistake of looking up a pokemon's moveset on bulbapedia on phone. Genuinely had to scroll for like 30 seconds and I was too committed to stop. Who actually uses that site?
>>
Serebii for news, Bulbapedia for any actual game information. Bulbapedia was slow on adapting ZA's info for some reason, so I had to use Serebii for that.
>>
>>59008883
Use the damn table of contents
>>
>>59008887
Anons are allergic to this
>>
Serebii. I like how its literally been the same layout for 25 years

No way
>>
>>59008701
For game data I typically go to serebii
For official art or something anime related, I use bulbapedia
I then use pokemondb to see lists of pokemon within a type
>>
>>59008701
bulbapedia, fuck merrick
>>
>>59008920
>pokemondb to see lists of pokemon within a type
You are aware bulbapedia does that too, right?
>>
>>59008922
So does serebii but the way they do it is shit
DB isn't just one long vertical string, it's an actual layout

I whip out this highly inaccurate badboy or ancient gamefaqs texts if I can because at least it isn't dependent on community driven bureaucracy or cloudflare protection checks when your browser is adblock focused. serebii? bulbapedia? you both need to unfuck yourselves. I'm not looking for an ancient looking site that clearly can't be assed or fanfic trivia rubbish.
>>
>>59008947
>community driven bureaucracy
This is the end goal and original intent of Pokemon, you know. So much isn't told to us that's only revealed in shit like Prima guides that the fanbase was encouraged to develop their own Pokemon Encyclopedias. A "Pokedex", if you will.
>>
>>59008954
>wikis are useful, because they paste in and preserve information on game mechanics that they normally keep to these guidebooks like most japanese games do
true, but given the option I would still buy the physical guidebook because it does away with all the ick and is in a nice jumbo format that is properly formatted even if error prone. its an experience. its presentation. nothing else will catalogue things in a flip format if theres anything you missed. wikis aren't guidethroughs, they're history books and tables that are like A4 documents. like thats useful sure but its not the same. especially when you have to jam in every piece of external media or link to wikipedia articles to explain geothermal energy. fuck that noise.

I've seen too much misinformation on Serebii to ever trust it on anything. At least when it happens with Bulbapedia I can immediately fix it.

Stop Joe, you complacent, self-important bong.
