i finally got all the vivillon, can we have a vivillon thread to celebrate?
theres weirdly little fanart of vivillon, especially for patterns other than meadow
>>59015958Nice. How long did it take you?
>>59018106it was weird actually. first, i got most of the main patterns doing the go postcard method in sv, which took a couple of weeks to get postcards from everywhere and send them to sv.then i found out 3ds regions didnt work how i thought they did so i was actually able to get them all in XY (im doing a living dex where i want all the mons to have a met region that matches where they were introduced), so i did that, but that only took an afternoongetting a hold of the poke ball pattern took a couple of months of trawling various discords, reddits, etc. to find someone with one theyd be willing to trade. i was doing that concurrently to everything else, but it was still the last one
whats the vivillon pattern for where you live, bros?
bump
The Pokeball pattern Vivillon is technically tradable on the GTS. Normally you only get it in Cherish Balls, which prevent a Pokemon from being traded. You can, however, upload hacked Vivivllon to Home that have the Pokeball pattern but are in regular Pokeballs. You can then trade them for Pokemon people post requesting a Pokeball Vivilon. You can use this to steal Pokemon people post in impossible trades thinking they can just flex a rare Pokemon they have.
>>59020336>Normally you only get it in Cherish Balls, which prevent a Pokemon from being traded.Anon, most Pokéball Pattern Vivillon were distributed in Pokéballs
>>59019291How did you get the sandstorm pattern in GO? I keep adding people from that region through leekduck but they either lie about their region or never interact. I had one friend who consistently sent gifts then one day stopped playing and hasn't come back. Still have them on my list JIC but I only managed one sandstorm
>>59020483i found leekduck very inconsistent for anything other than the japanese regions (elegant, monsoon, tundra). even then a lot of elegant players seem to claim theyre tundra or monsoon (it is still good for getting those three though). for pretty much everything else i just used reddit tbdesu. theres a fairly active sub with megathreads for every pattern so just keep an eye on that for fresh posts (old ones arent worth your time since the people in the rare regions get spammed with a million requests and wont see you) and add them. i got sandstorm from a guy in qatar
>>59020515>redditkinda sounds like maybe you should fuck off back there
>>59016762Well I never played a game past Gen IV and this is the first I'm hearing of this thing.
>Accidentally released the spewpa from that side mission
>>59022280It's one of my favourite mons from more recent gens. The gimmick was that the pattern you got depended on where you lived irl. It came back in sv and works a little differently now, you have to exchange gifts with people in go and then send the postcards to your switch, but that itself is fun because you get pictures of the irl locations which is cool to see
the art you get as a background in home for registering all the vivi forms is cute
I remember when X/Y came out and I didnt care about anything in that game except collecting vivillions. It was fun
>>59024614did you get them all?
>collected a few scatterbug/spewpa WT random shit in XY days>send 'em to Violet last night>end up with Tundra and Polar pattern in the 5
>>59025785>end up with Tundra and Polar pattern in the 5What?
>>59027480I collected a few scatterbug/Spewpa and when I finally evolved them, I found I had a tundra and polar pattern vivillion in the bunch of 5 (two polar patterns actually).
>>59027488ah gotchu. my brain just wasnt making sense of that first time around. polar is a really nice one and tundra is pretty rare (only in very sparsely populated parts ot eh english speaking world) so those are cool to have
>>59031113Why did they make her look so fat kek
>>59030056theres a full set of these
>>59015958What's your favorite one? >Mine's picrel
>>59033446picrel for me. such a kino design
>>59034642I do wish vivillons had better shinies. I get why they are what they are but it'd be so cool if the wing patterns changed colours too
>>59033446Polar. Not sure if it's my favourite because it's the design I like best or because it's the one for where I live. Probably a bit of both
Me in the bottom-left.
>>59033446river and i feel like i'm biased because of where i live but i just like the simple contrast of the blue and yellow/brown that it has. looks really natural, for lack of a better term
>>59033446Modern. Like the other anons said, could just be because of where I live, but it's a really clean design
>>59035577>>59036012>>59036834the one for where i live is shit :(
>>59037578garden is nice, anon
>>59019443This one
