You wouldn’t abandon your Pokemon on a dying planet so you could survive in space, would you?
>the plot of pokopia is just Wall-E
idk the pokopia planet doesn't look that bad.
>>59021803>you return to see your loli trainer>she's an obese tiktok zombie adult>you just crash the ship and go back to shill with your pokebros forever
>>59021803I saw it differently.
>>59021803>Ever since the 20th to 21st centuries, in the midst of technological advancement and industrial modernization, environmental problems have struck the polluted Earth mercilessly. A systematic, worldwide environmental emergency known as the "Global Warming Epidemic" materialized through consistent flooding of once quintessential cultural, national and economic hubs of activity (situated on the shores of oceans and seas) like New York City and Venice, leading to a massive surge of migration to inland cities and furthering pollution levels and resulting natural calamitiesUntil we get to know what caused all the mess in the planet I saw it as dead space, Children of Time and maybe NieR and Spectrobes. Also remember Dark Matter from PMD
>>59022705the volcano in cinnabar just stop.the rain stoped. The wind stoped. The earth, stoped. The planet just stoped. Legendaries can tough it out, same with certain Pokémon like Mosslax. But, as a whole, somehow the world, stopped.
>>59022860Yeah but why? That sounds like it was done by something way above legendaries
>>59022889either it will be explained in the DLC or remain unanswered as GameFreak rather not elaborate the cause of such event.
>>59022889Climate change, you know how the franchise always pushes environmentalism.
>>59022955except it wasn't man made; I think one of the GameFreak Reps confirmed in the interview that Global Warming doesn't exist outside of the Weather Trio.
>>59023040Mewtwo directly states the cause was "humans being careless with science".
>>59023120plus could climate collapse stop a volcano?
>>59022955>the franchise always pushes environmentalismehh, does it though? the only time it's a relevant factor is when the eco-freaks are literal terrorists who are the objectively in the wrong
>>59023148That and with Grimer and Koffing, though the two can be found in natural environment (like with Koffing in volcanos and Grimers in swamps)
>>59023148Anon, the entire setting is solarpunk. The Pokémon Ranger Trainer Class never shuts up about protecting nature. You rarely ever see cars.
>Kanto gym leader outfitsGood to know that Pokemon canon ends with your Pokemon left behind as you go into space.
>>59023187It's an alternate timeline, Ethan/Gold never stopped Team Rocket.
>>59023195Seems like the world started falling apart after the end of RBG too
>>59023230>after the end of RBGWhat do you mean?
>>59023250Red/Blue/Green, you know, the no mega evolution timeline that Devon (?) wanted to nuke by sending the asteroid
>>59022705Dark matter is from Kirby's dream land stupid
>>59023271Shut the fuck up retardhttps://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Dark_Matter
>>59022889Maybe Arceus wanted to rebuild the world
The entire evacuation plan is ridiculous just for the sake of a happy ending>Plan was to evacuate all of humanity. Again: ALL of them, we are talking about billions of people. That requires a ridiculous amount of resources, just to get out of the atmosphere alone (remember how much and what kind of energy they needed to fuel that one rocket in ORAS?)>According to the ending, they've travelled outside the solar system, which requires even more fuel, also for the way back.>Every astronaut has a tiny personal shuttle which acts as a living quarter. Requires even more resources per survivor. And it should also store all the fuel for the way back home. (Yes, I take the ending literally because the story is already a ridiculous mess.)>They aren't even in stasis, but living there like it's some kind of space house. How are they supposed to survive for multiple decades or centuries without getting any supplies? We are told they've left all their pokemon on Earth, so they aren't able to generate any kind of resources out of thin air. Meaning they needed technology so advanced to support life in such a limited space. So they had all these resources and technology to pull this expensive plan off, but couldn't revert a meteorological anomaly? Bullshit storytelling.>>59022889You'd think they've pissed off some cosmic horror when even legendaries like Kyogre back off.
>>59022705Dark Matter is the collective darkness of Pokemon that seeks self destruction.
>>59023120Volcanion assumed it was humans that fucked up the planet and its not terribly surprising Mewtwo confirms it.
>>59022889Kyogre explicitly went deep below the sea to not contribute to the chaos.
>>59023373I accept your concession
>>59023414Eh, I haven’t played the game but from what you said it doesn’t seem too dumb. Pokémon has never presented itself as being particularly realistic and it’s been established they have technology far beyond the real world without needing Pokémon powers, and it doesn’t seem clear what the disaster was or what caused it so being able to not being able to solve it but being able to evacuate the whole thing world sort of make sense.. Though it would have been better to just drop the whole apocalypse shit, it’s an unnecessary disturbing element in that’s supposed to be a “comfy” game. And the sheer scale of things is just too much to take in
>>59023414this took place centuries after the events of the mainline games, so it's possible that they achieved Space Colonization by then. It's possible that they got said supplies from those space colonies.
>>59023503Seeing that it took place centuries after the mainline games, it could be possible that the crisis were a result of human progress taking a toll on the planet itself; just because fossil fuel powered Climate Collapse doesn't exist in that world, doesn't mean there aren't other environmental issues caused by human activities.
>>59023503I'm totally fine with suspending my disbelief for worldbuilding's sake, but this particular case conflicts with lore from ORAS's Delta Episode. If we were to believe that the pokeworld is so advanced and has so many resources at its disposal to evacuate all of humanity into space, then they could have built a couple hundred Infinity Energy nukes to shield the meteor off as a backup if Plan A with the Cable Link fails.I know GF isn't good at math (regarding certain Dex entries), but at least they could make the setting more believable and impactful. Humanity has to evacuate into space to ensure the species' survival. Unfortunately, only a couple thousand people (if we're generous, a million) can be saved. The rest must be left behind. Those saved will be put in stasis until Earth has recovered so mankind can repopulate later again. One of the lucky ones chosen for the conservation program happens to be the trainer of the Ditto we play as. If we should add more drama, then something went wrong with the rockets or spacestation and the humans didn't manage to return yet, resulting in the failsafe releasing all pokemon from their digital prisons. For the environmentalist agenda they're pushing, there are also no stakes involved. Everyone is saved, no one dies, every damage done to the environment can be reversed, even the bad guys are good now (what's with GF whitewashing criminal groups of late?).
>>59023980>even the bad guys are good now (what's with GF whitewashing criminal groups of late?)it's just the sanitizing/wholesome-chungusification of pokemon. same reason why "evil teams" haven't actually been evil since Gen 6
>>59023932>this took place centuries after the events of the mainline gamesThe notes you find mention Misty and Lt.Surge still being Gym Leaders, so the evacuation shouldn't be so far off the events of the mainline games.>>59023997>same reason why "evil teams" haven't actually been evil since Gen 6Mega-Corpos took their place (except for Gen9).
>N vindicated>Lysandre vindicatedWere humans the real problem all along?
>>59024090While leaving their Pokémon alone was a dick move it seems that what happened went beyond everyone's scope, human and Pokémon alike
>>59024055Fuchsia city and CDs notes proved otherwise; TMs were used by Tangrowth's Trainers distant ancestors, while Fuchsia said that Kuga and Jasmine are from a distant past. Plus the Tower in Vermillion was finally built after decades of delays.
>>59024090Considering some Pokémon can have intelligence way greater than a common human, they probably were.
>>59024090Always has been. This game won't stop people from looking down on Pokemon though even when they're unfucking the planet.
>>59022889This is why I can't take manmade environmental catastrophes seriously in Pokemon. There are a buttload of legendaries who could snap their fingers and fix everything in an instant. Why are the gods of space and time just sitting on their asses while the world falls apart?
God forbid they actually get creative with a pokemon plot for once.
>>59025455>Why is God just sitting on his ass while the world falls apart?Good question, any catholics itt?
>real life environment is getting so fucked even cheery nintendo games like splatoon and pokopia have humans extinct from fucking up the environmenti've been alive too long
>>59023120That doesn't really prove the point. It seems vague on purpose from everythibg we've seen. AGW would really not make any sense considering all the dex entries and implications over the years that imply the Pokémon society phased out pollution years ago. What Mewtwo said implies to me something like trying to do geoengineering for the sake of profit or an experiment gone wrong.
>>59025455Why would they intervene?
>>59023980They could have made a space colony near the planet too instead of spaceships that, looking at the credits, are way, way, too far from their original planet. Is the lore interesting? Sure, but it sucks too and fuck villains being dindus nowadays in every modern game too
>>59025568>Why would they fix the world they made and live inAre you retarded?
>>59025742What needs fixing? They're still living just fine.
>>59025568Because you can force them to help if they don't want to? They're not gods but frauds so anyone strong enough can catch them and make them help with the crisis
>>59025761Evidently the humans didn't do that so the problem must've not been worth a legendary's intervention.
>>59025772>Pokéhumans are retarded Oh yeah, I forgot that was a thing in Ohmoriverse
>>59025742Good question. Why hasn’t God done anything about those sandniggers and Jewish pedophiles yet?
>>59024055>Mega-Corpos took their place (except for Gen9).Pokemon Legends Z-A made even more stupidity beyond belief by making questionable mega-corpo to be innocent saint doing good cause, and also shady loan-shark crime organization that protects them turned out to be a good fellas. So yeah, no one should touch that piece of shit game.
>>59025986Ohmori was a mistake
>>59025986Don’t people always complain when the generic mega-corpo is le ebil plot is reused over and over though?Totally agree on the loan sharks btw. I bet they force people like Taunie into sex slavery.
>>59026085I mostly believe that Ohmori is aiming a scifi level plot that he grew up from sentai series where all evil baddies after XY are all coming from space so that there are no actual evil humans in Pokemon world. Sure, there is couple of bad guys but they aren't a TRUE evil.
>>59026121>Sure, there is couple of bad guys but they aren't a TRUE evil. That's stupid, even his alien threats are dindus and stupid shit like redeemed Lyssandre shouldn't be a thing given his own plot, next he'll probably do the same shit with Ghetsis
>>59025986They write themselves into a corner everytime they want to avoid anything related to evil, but still need something bad for the hero's journey to make sense.
>>59021661yes...
>>59025813What they lack in brains, they makes up for in brawn and resilience.
>>59021661Wouldn't we take em or atleast suspend their eggs with us? so that if pokemon die off in the planet then they don't go totally extinct.
>>59027451Don't question Ohmori's ingenious storytelling, anon. Everything will always work out in the end.
bump
Does anyone have parts 2 and 3 of this streaming/CD note? I’m really curious about what the rest says please
>>59028887NB4:>I'm not sharing any screenshots of the note, I want you to purchase the damn Switch2 and game so we can talk about our builds. Fuck lorefags who never played the fucking game.
