>>59021780me. the window textures don't matter. it being set in a single city doesn't matter. what matters is that there is NO variety in said city. they coulda made different districts yeah? and each district has its own vibe or at least its own color palette? but the whole city is the same. the human characters are fine, but LUMIOSE should have been treated as a character. it should have had personality. instead it's a vacuum of nothingness. the game is engaging enough, if you're a lifelong pokemon fan I'd still say it's worth playing, but lumiose is disappointing.

User score. We know for a fact various game journalists are biased and will take money for good reviews (or to maintain getting early copies, as some companies don't give early copies to poor reviewers). Also consider that the game journalists likely don't have time for a deep delve. They're not the ultra autists we are. They'll play for a few days, but never really get in the cracks or dwell too long on the quirks. I liked the idea of Pokemon ZA, but will admit it is the worst of the modern games.

ZA is great if you enjoy pokemon battles and want a game where the pokemon battles are actually fun. I kinda wish gamefreak had included a hard mode where all trainer battles were level locked so people couldn't overlevel and cheese the best combat system the series ever had. However you really have to like pokemon battles because that is ALL the game is. you will get tired eventually and want to do something else, but put the game down and play pokopia or something instead because Everything in ZA comes back to battles.
