Unironically looks better than DQ9, block colored chibi sprites handle the pixelization of the tilt-shift effect on the DS screen way better than more detailed ones. And don't get me started on overly detailed textures on 3D models. Hell, with 3D in general I genuinely wonder if anyone playtested their DS games on the actual DS and not something with a much better screen.

the reason gen 5's sprites look like that is because they awkwardly blended a 3D camera with 2D sprites so you end up losing pixels if the sprites are far from the camera
