Modern cards won't hold value. It's supply and demand. Demand will probably go down at some point when the "next big thing" takes off - who know what and when, but something will come around eventually, and supply - well I don't think this many people have held (as opposed to opened) more product. Scarcity is important - and we don't have that. it also doesn't help that Pokemon have plans to build more huge factories so they can print more.
