The only way to actually upscale Red is to say Anime Leon = Masters/Game Leon, as Ash barely beat Leon after being given loads of benefits in his battle, while Red and Leon were shown to be mostly evenly match in Masters, with Red appearing slightly stronger in both battles, Leon had plot armor on his side (getting an arc suit) that allowed him to win the second time despite this

Leon was raised to be the ultimate Pokemon Trainer and a Pokemon Master by Chairman Rose as a means to one up his brother Peony. He already beaten all of the worlds champions and only returned to Galar to be defend his regional title. Note that Ash only won due to behind the scene drama that lead to his voice actor's retirement.

Plus Ash is still traveling around the world since his true goal not to be the strongest trainer, but to befriend everyone he meets around the world.
