only reason that was a debate with Sun/Moon is because SM has connotations as another abbreviation, and SuMo is funny because it spells out a word. and SwSh was only called that because SS was already used for SoulSilver. at no point prior in the series did anybody ever use SwSh style abbreviations like ReBl, GoSi, RuSa, etc., nor do people call Scarlet/Violet ScVi, and even today SM is much more widely used for Sun/Moon. so I really have no idea how WiWa became prevalent when WW works perfectly fine.
