What would you say is the best generation of Pokemon for each type? Like, what gen has the best of one type on average, like one gen having better Bugs than the rest.

>>59035329Psychic was so fucking strong in Gen 11. In the campaign, once you reach Celadon City, the overwhelming majority of the foes you face will be weak to Psychic. Grass gym? They are all Grass/Poison. Team Rocket mostly uses Poison mons, including the Zubat line (immune to Ground) and Koffing line (immune to Ground in the remakes thanks to Levitate). Go to Saffron, gotta fight the Fighting gym, then more Team Rocket, then Sabrina's gym which despite being a Psychic gym actually feature a bunch of Poison mons (the Poison gym later also features a bunch of Psychic mons). Then you go down the cycling road and it's full of Poison and Fighting mons. Do the Poison gym, now you can go surf to reach Cinnabar - you'll mostly fight the Tentacool line on the way which is Water/Poison.2. Virtually no weakness. Dark doesn't exist yet. There's no viable bug mon or bug move. Ghost is bugged so that Psychic actually resists Ghost instead of being weak to them - but even if it wasn't bugged, it wouldn't matter, because there's only TWO (2) attacking Ghost moves in the game: Lick, which has a Base Power of 20, and Night Shade, which does fixed damage.3. The only thing that resists Psychic is Psychic. Technically, Ghost should resist it, but the only Ghost mons in the game is the Gastly line, which are Ghost/Poison.4. On top of all the above, you just have a bunch of Psychic Pokemon that have really good stats for the meta and great movepools. Alakazam, Starmie, Jynx, Exeggutor, Slowbro are all incredible and it's pretty common to see teams with 2 or 3 of these. Mew is also incredible and Gen 1 Mewtwo was just the most OP Pokemon ever relative to its context; in Gen 1, it had virtually no counter. Sure some later uber Pokemon can wipe the floor with Mewtwo, but those Pokemon have counters within their own context; in Gen 1, the best counter to Mewtwo was your own Mewtwo.
