This hunt was surprisingly annoying even with a really good map. Not as bad as my chikorita shalpha hunt (which I will now attempt again instead of coping with a non-alpha) and both cases were because I wanted a female one. I saw so many male shalpha feebases and chikoritas.. anyway, I got this last second after catching a random shiny and messing up the timer. Good luck to you all on your shiny hunts! Once I got shalpha female chikorita I can finally quit playing Z-A.

starting hunting berry forest hypno. First time I encountered it as a kid it was shiny so I thought it was a guaranteed shiny like the red Gyarados for the longest time. Couldn't find it a few years ago when I checked the save file so maybe I failed it at the time. Either way been excited to reclaim it.

I've never run into a single Shiny in the wild in the 16 years I've been playing these games. I've only caught them from doing things like chainfishing or the like. Closest I got was spending like 3 hours in the safari zone looking for a high level dratini in the gen 1 remakes and getting a shinny magikarp. But I don't count that since I was bascially chainfishing.
